Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Miller attended the Commencement exercises of the Canton, Ohio, high school, Friday night, June 13th. Their daughter. Miss Betty, was a member of the 1941 graduating class. Miss Betty will be employed this summer in the office of the Pickwick, Inc. Charles Kroh and son, Jimmie, and Noble Myers and son, Jimmie, spent Thursday, June 12, in Chicago at a ball game. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rhode, of St. Louis, Mo., are spending several weeks here at the lake.

Miss Margaret Harris, of Shaker Heights, Ohio,, is spending this week with Miss Marilyn Weller at the lake. Johnny Blakesley has been confined to his home the past week with a severe case of poison ivy. Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Bailey attended the home coming and 70th anniversary celebration of the U. B. church at Churubusco, last Sunday. Rev. Bailey was pastor of the church in 1927-32. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Jarrett, of Sylvania, Ohio, spent last weekend here with relatives and friends. Dr. and Mrs. James A. Craig, of Greenwood, Ind., were taken to the Goshen hospital with injuries suffered at 5 p.m. Sunday when their automobile collided with a truck at the intersection of No. 6 and toad north of here from Huntington street. Dr. Craig, 69, driver of the automobile, received numerous cuts and bruises. Mrs. Craig, 68, suffered the fracture of her right arm and injuries to her chest ’ and left w rist: They were in the hospital only a few day&. Miss Eloise Bouse, of Silver Lake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Bouse, was united in marriage to Royal Dee Clark, Also of Silver Lake, at the Bailey Flower Garden in Syracuse at 10 a.m., Saturday. June 14. Rev. J. C. Bailey pronounced the marriage vows, using the single ring ceremony. The young couple will be at home in Goshen after a few weeks. Mrs. Orval Carr will entertain Circle No. 4of the Methodist church at a pot-luck supper tonight (Friday). / • Concord 9 Mr. and Mrs. Warren Fisher, of Ft, Wayne, spent Saturday night at the Eldon Wyland home. Mrs. Mary Dewart spent a fewdays in Milford recently with Mrs. Martha Roop. Those who called Sunday at the Ernest Mathews home were: Messrs, and Mesdames Lawance Dewart, Lloyd Dewart, Guy Fisher, George Mathews, Willard Conn. Chester Stiffler and family. Edward Smith and‘’tiXpily, and .Mrs. Alice Mathews. Mr. Mathews is not so well. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wyland were Mr. and -Mrs. Chas. Wineland, Henry Booth and grand daughter. Rowdabaugh, who has been quite ill the past two weeks, is slowly improving, Mrs. Ethel Strine is much imafter several weeks illness. Mrs. Harvey Yoder entertainedJ the Bethany Home Economics club in her home Thursday. Mrs. Bert Neff assisted the hostess. Business session was in charge of the president. Mrs. El’.is Zook. Vocal solos were given by Miss Phyllis Byland and contents were conducted by Mrs. Irvin Byland. There were 17 members present. Mrs. Cornelius Reuter and daughter, of Milford, were present. The next meeting will be July 10, with Mrs. H. L. Whitehead, with a carry-in dinner. She w-ill by Mrs. Wm. Warble, Mrs. Wilma Moore and Mrs. Wm. Sheffield. Mr. and Mrs. PAil Clem havj moved to the C. H. Hartman farm. —

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Skidgell, of Albion, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Skidgell and family, of Ligonier, were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. G. Skidgell Sunday for Father’s Day. Z. James Byers, Syracuse high school vocational agriculture instructer, and 4-H Club leader, with Wayne Coy, Robert Baumgartner, Donald Miller and Paul Yeager attended the 4-H Club Round-Up at Purdue University The boys scored 17 th out of 27 contestants. They outscored teams from Mentone and South Whitley, which had defeated them previously at county and district contests. Miss Laura Bachman. home economics teacher at Millersburg and Miss Martha Brower, home economics teacher at Rolling Prairie, also attended the Round-Up. Mr. and Mrs. James Duling attended the Indiana State JerseyCattle Club field day at the Wm. Campbell farm, Franklin, Ind., on Friday, June 13. Governor Henry F. Schricker was the principal speaker at thfe meeting. Milt Wysong, educational director of the state Conservation Department. will make an/ address this Friday night at the sixth annual Fishermen's Jubilee at Angola. A banquet will be held at the Angola high school gym, and Donna Kellett, queen of the celebration, will be crowned.
