SI tTtA W. BRAUN \ I © \fjne Safety (Man Would you gamble 17,000,000 minutes to save one minute? The average person 35 years of age has approximately 17,000,000 minutes left in a normal life. We should guard those minutes and not gamble with them. How often, however, have you seen motorists go through stop lights, pass on hills and on curves, and do one of fifty reckless things on the highway to save a minute? If they win, nothing is said about it; if they lose, they have thrown away millions of minutes simply to save one minute. Doesn’t/ it seem foolish and downrighysilly to do these reckless things' when we look at it in this way? It’s Smart to Drive Carefully! MRS. JAMES BURSON EXPIRES NEAR HERE Mrs. James Burson, 57, died Tuesday morning at 12:30 o’clock at her home three miles south of Syracuse. Death, due to corcinoma, followed an extended illness. The deceased was born in Indiana and had been a resident of the Syracuse vicinity for the past 30 years. Surviving relatives include one son, Elmo Burson. and three daughters, Mrs. Lester Sawler. Mrs. Noble Ringler, Mrs. Opal Pepper and two brothers, Louis and Mar Garrison, all of Syracuse and vicinity. Mr. Burson preceded his wife in death a year ago in October. Funeral services were held at the Carr funeral home, Syracuse, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. Emeral Jones officiated and interment was in Union cemetery, south of Syracuse. FOREST FIRES STILL DESTROY WOODLANDS Forest fires are still a , menace to Indiana forests and woodlands with severeal hundred acres burned over during the past ten days, Virgil M. Simmons, commissionei of the Department of Conservation, reported today. Lack of moisture in recent weeks has made fire conditions more critical than is normal at this time of year. Reports of the forest fire wardens who have aided in extinguishing forest fires during the last of November and early part* of December indicate that many of these blazes are due to carelessness on the part of hunters and trappers. Failure to put out matches or burning tobacco and leaving campfires in which all sparks have not been extinguished, are frequent causes of fires which burn valuable timber and vegetation that provides essential food and cover for wildlife.

.\l<l///. MEN LOVE girls with rtr If you are peppy and full of fun, men will invite you to dances and parties. BUT if you are cross, listless and tired, men won’t be interested. Men don’t like ’quiet” girls. When they go to parties they want girls along who are full of pep. So in case you need a good general system tonic, remember for 3 generations one woman has told another how to go “smiling thru” with Lydia E. Pinkham’s Vegetable Compound. It helps build up more physical resistance and thus aids in giving you more pep and lessens distress from female functional disorders. .You'll find Pinkham's Compound WELL WORTH TRYING!
