BOWLING NEW’S At a meeting of the team captains of the Syracuse bowling league held in the Pickwick Alley club room Sunday afternoon, it was decided to distribute the prize money this year on the basis of games won. Each team shall receive 40 cents for each game won. Also, there will be trophies for the following: —to the sponsor of the winning team for the season, —to the bowler with the highest individual average for the season, —to the bowler with the highest single game score for the season. No bowler will receive more than one trophy. The league will hold a city bowling tournament in the near future. The standings to date are as follows : W L Pct. MARSH HONORED WITH SURPRISE PARTY A birthday surprise party was held in honor of Mrs. Fletcher Marsh recently at their home. Several games and contests were held, after which delicious refreshments were served. Miss Doris Davis furnished delightful musical entertainment. After a hilarious time, the guest of honor opened the lovely gifts presented her by her many friends. Those who attended were Misses Ethel and Gladys Bowser, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Bishop and family, Mr. O. Paul Davis and daughters, Mary and Doris, Mr. E. C, Droke, Richard Isbell, Betty Lee Wilt, Fletcher Marsh and daughter, Margaret. FINED IN JUSTICE COURT A number of motorists were fined over the week-end and Monday in the court of Justice Edward B. •Smith for traffic violations as follows: Russell Byrkett, Syracuse, backed from the curb at that town' in front of a car driven by Norma Henwood, Chicago, causing collision. To get her 232, she finished with 6 straight strikes. Her sensational series was the highest ot her career, although on a number of occasions, Mrs. Burson has bowled in the 600 class.
