WEATHER AIDS HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE WORKERS •v Absence of snow and comparatively mild weather during the past several weeks has 'permitted rapid progress in maintenance work on the state highway system, T. A. Dicus, chairman of the State Highway Commission, reported today. With all equipment and materials ready for emergency use in the event of heavy snows, workers have been engaged in other maintenance operations. Renewal of centerlines, cleaning drainage ditches, filling pavement cracks, replacing signs, patching and shoulder improvement are among the present activities. Maintenance of the ten thousand miles of state highways is becoming one of the major functions
