LEGION POST 223 MAKES PLANS FOR ARMISTICE DAY CELEBRATION
Plans for the Armistice program have been completed by the local Post 223 of the American Legion, according to Commander Gordon Johnson. The pictures will be ‘‘Dawn Patrol” and “Man Without a Country,” both of which will follow the Legion program of keeping the United States from entering the present foreign wor. The parade will be formed at 10:30 at Bill Rapp’s residence on Main street, immediately following the movies. The procedure of the lineup will be in the following order: Colors, firing squad, bugle corps, high school pupils, high school band and the grade children. The parade will proceed east on Main street to the Library, one block south, oue block west to Huntington street, and then north to the main square, where the balance of the program will be completed at 11 o’clock. Included in the program will be a song by the high school band, in which everyone is urged to participate, “The Star Spangled Banner,” our national anthem. This will be followed by a short talk by William Pracht, member of the local post, in an appropriate tribute to the soldiers of 1917 and 1918. A selection by the Legion Dru mand Bugle corps will succeed the talk and' then will be sounded the “call to colors” with the group facing toward the east for one minute after which the firing squad will salute the dead and “Taps” will be sounded.
