A goodly number of people were present for the Rally Day service last Sunday. This is Reformation Sunday throughout the Lutheran Church work of those great men who lifted the Christian church out of the of the world, when we recall the clutches of a system that was made and maintained by “dark age” methods. The opportunity to worship God as we do in this land might not be ours had it not been for the labors of those men. Let us use this opportunity this Sunday and every Sunday. You are welcome at our services. TRINITY EVANGELICAL J. S. Pritchard, Pastor Church School, 9:45. Mrs. Wilma Hire, S. Supt. Morning Worship, 10:45. Enough of snow flakes e’er so small when united makes a great large ball. The bit that you personally contribute in time, money, and talent, when placed with that of all the rest, aggregates an amount worth while. Moral: Do your bit. Our Rally Day and W.M.A. service, with a wholesome fellowship dinner was much enjoyed by all pretsent. Good music, their interes
ting features and a fine worship spirit did us all good as it doth the upright in heort. These special services are well worth all the trouble and labor to put them over. We just ought to have more of them. Mum! Chicken Gravy with Biscuits! By Dorothy Greig IHAVE discovered that one way to the heart of small fry (and big fry, too) is via the chicken gravy with hot biscuits route. BOX' Os course, when there’s roast chicken or chicken fricassee in the pan. chicken gravy is just a matter of course. But there** away to serve rich chicken gravy at any time, chicken or no chicken. It’s done with condensed chicken soup. I count this bit of cooking wizardry something to tuck away in my What Every Woman Should Know file to be brought forth when and where it will do the most good. Here it is: Chicken Gravy with Biscuits 1 cm condensed chicken soup 1- cupful milk 1% tablespoons flour * baking powder biscuits Blend flour and milk and add to chicken soup. Bring slowly to a boil and cook until thickened. Split bis* cuits and arrange in serving dish, pour chicken gravy over them. Garnish with a sprig of parsley and serve hot The Greater Chicago Hotel Association recently announced that if only 13 guests appear for a dinner party at any of the city’s hotels, a store dummy in full dress will be provided to reassure the superstitous.
