The Weybright reunion will be held at the Bethany church, Sunday, September 2. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sheffield and son of Decatur, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Doll of Elkhart, called Sunday on Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Sheffield. Mr. and Mrs. John McGarity were guests of Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Whitehead. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rowdbaugh spent the week-end with Mr. Rowdbaugh’s sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. James Neff of Beverton, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. George Neff, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bollinger left Sunday for a ten-day motor trip to Washington, D. C., and West Virginia. Mrs. Bert Neff has been quite ill the past week in the McDonald hospital in Warsaw. The Bethany school will open Tuesday, Sept. 4tfi, with Edgar Hartman as principal and Miss Cecile Flook and Miss Jane Neff as teachers. Earl Baker, who has been working for Jake Bucher, is spending his vacation at the New York World’s Fair. JAPANESE BEETLES ARE FOUND IN SEVEN CITIES Trapping to discover the presence of Japanese beetle, being conducted in 17 Hoosier cities this summer by the Department of Conservation in cooperation with the U. S. Department of Agriculture, has resulted in the finding of beetles in seven cities, Virgil M. Simmons, commissioner of the Department of Conservation, said today. Beetles have been found at Indianapolis, Logansport, Bluffton, Muncie, Richmond, Fort Wayne and Warsaw, with the largest number trapped at Indianapolis, Logansport and Fort Wayne. The survey will be discontinued this month when the beetles end their flying stage. Mrs. Sam Beer and Miss Eston Hoover spent Monday in Fort Wayne. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Naylor and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Green spent an enjoyable Sunday at Winona Lake.
