Poyser east of Elkhart, on Sunday. A pot-luck dinner was the noon-day feature. The Kunces formerly lived at Indian Village in Noble county. B Four Corners B by Mrs. Crist Darr The John Maloy reunion was held at the home of Mary Jane Ulery Sunday the 20th. the families of John Shively and two children, Dorcas and Cassel Hoke of Nappanee, Charley Weybright, George Weybright and wife and twins, Myron and Muriel, of 'Solomon Creek, Ernest Maloy and wife, Lewis Buhrt and wife, John Cnller and Miss Wanda Culler of Goshen and Miss Miriam Weybright and Florence Buhrt. A fine pot-luck dinner was served. The rest of the day was spent socially. Clyde and Walter Augsburger spent Sunday evening with friends in Milford. Mrs. Vern Kirkendorfer called at the home of Mary Ulery, Tuesday evening. Frank Maloy is putting a new roof on his house and also on his barn. Mr. McKinney and Mr. Davis of Milford are doing the work for him. Mary Ulery was a visitor with the family of Vern Kirkendorfer Wednesday and also attended the services at the Brethren church at New Paris with the Kirkendorfers. Lightning did its quick work on the barn of Mr. Kirkendorfer Friday night, burning it to the ground along with his hay, wheat and oats, farming implements and two hogs. At this time of the year the loss is greatly felt. Mr. and Mrs. LaTone Jenson were visitors with her parents at Richville, Sunday afternoon. Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Rarick and three daughters of Syracuse, visited in the Crist Darr home Sunday. Roy Eisenhour was a caller in the Crist Darr home Sunday. Mrs. Crist Darr was a caller at the home of Mrs. LaTone Jenson Saturday afternoon. v Miss Mildred Graff and some friends made a pleasure trip to Chicago Saturday and returned home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Hartmyer of Illinois, were entertained in the home of Oscar Graff, Sunday and jMonday evenings.

Emory Guy and wife called in the evening. George Coy and family of'Warsaw spent Sunday evening with Clarence Coy and family. Mrs. Edward Klinger spent last week visiting in Ohio. Lewis Auer, who fell and hurthimself last week, is able to work again. Mrs. Roy Pinkerton and family, Alva Crowl and family attended the Crowl reunion at Goshen Sunday. ■, Edw. Smith and family spent Sunday with the Guy Leatherman family of near New Paris. Mr. and Mrs. John Fair and Miss Mary Theresa Dickson of Chicago were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bowersox. ( -j 'Mr. and Mrs. Paul Riddle left Wednesday for Vinder, New Mexico, where they are both employed as teachers. Miss Francis Houston of Ashley, Ohio, has returned to her home after spending the past two weeks in Syracuse. Rev. and Mrs. John A. Pettit of San Juan, Puerto Rico, are the parents of a son, Thomas Richard, born August 14. Rev. Pettit is the former pastor of the local Lutheran church. Mrs. Fred Hoopingamer and son, Stanley, left Tuesday to spend a week in Plymouth, Ohio, with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith. Max Carlson, employee of the Seider Grocery, has been unable to work for a few days on account of illness. Rev. and Mrs. Victor Yeager and children, Mrs. Emma Gordy, and Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Bailey attended the All-County County Home picnic at the county home south of Warsaw on Tuesday.

Juanita Taylor of this city underwent an emergency operation for appendicitis last Tuesday afternoon at the McDonald hospital at Warsaw. She is improving satisfactorily.
