Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hammon and Mr. Mitchel Hammon and Miss Lillian Hammon attended the Hammon reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gaulbert Gates at Hudson, Indiana, on Saturday. Mrs. John. Auer also accompanied them. * Circle No. 1 of the Methodist Ladies’ Aid will meet on Thursday afternoon at the home of Miss Lillian Hammon. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Klink spent Sunday in Edon, Ohio, as guests of Mr. Klink’s sister. Miss Goldie Newcomer spent Sunday visiting friends in Ohio. Mrs. Roland Neff, Jr., and daughter, Barbara and Annie Causer, spent Thursday afternoon at Camp Mack visiting Mrs. Neff’s sister-in-law, Miss Elizabeth Neff. Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Kline were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Blitz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Firestone and son, Elyra, of Manchester, Miss Rowena Kline and Mr. Paul Berwer of Fort Wayne. The Brower-Overstreet reunion was held on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Eston Kline attended. Mr.%nd Mrs. John Harley were in Leesburg on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Berates. > i Mr. and Mrs. Berry and (j. R. Booth of Charleston, West Virgina, spent last week with Mrs. Bouge. On Thursday of last week, Mrs. James Connelly entertained 13 children in honor of her son, John, who was four years old. Mr. and Mrs. James Connelly and family were In North Judson and also attended a reunion in Kentland, Indiana. The Master reunion was held at Croul Landing on Dewart Lake on Sunday. Those attending from Syracuse were Mr. and Mrs. Mart Long, Gladys Bowser and Barbara Bowser. Mrs. Herbert Beavers of Modesto California will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Miller for several days. Mr. and Mrs. (Don Riley of Springfield is spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ward of Syracuse. The eldership of the Church of God will be held at Crossroad, Indiana. Rev. and Mrs. Yeager will leave on Friday to attend. Mrs. Helen Dunlap and daughter, Dorothy, of Greencastle, Ind., were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Miller on Sunday. Mrs. Dunlap was formerly Helen Johnson of Syracuse. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Nelson of Hammond, Ind., were the guests in the home of their daughter, Mrs. Laucks Xanders on Sunday. Mrs. Roy Darr, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Noble Meyers to Chicago, where she met her husband and spent the week-end. Mrs. Darr attended the Music Festival at Soldiers’ Field while there.
Miss Barbara Bowser spent Tuesday with her aunt, Mrs. Mart Long. Mrs. Norman Kieson left Sunday for Chicago and St. Louis where she will visit for several weeks. Miss Annelea Deahl and Mr. John Wagner of Kendallville called on friends in Syracuse on Sunday. Mrs. Simon. Bell was taken to the Elkhart hospital last Friday evening where she was to undergo X-ray observation. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Amos and baby daughter, Jacquelin Anne of Edinburg, Indiana, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. K. W. Hark less on Sunday. Mr. Richard Miller and Miss Jean Wills of Logansport spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Miller. Miss Annie Causer was the guest on Friday afternoon and evening of Miss Alverda Price and Bob McConnell of Goshen at the cottage of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Price. - Mr. and Mrs. Landis Piressler of Kendallville were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gants attended the Moore reunion at Dewley Lake near Indian Village, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Noble Meyers and children, Jimmy and Jean, spent a week in New York at the fair and returned through Washington, D. C. Rev. J. S. Pritchard, pastor of the local Trinity Evangelical church, left early this week upon a vacation excursion to Forest Lake, Michigan, with Mrs. Pritchard and her mother, Mrs. A. H. Blanchard. Mr. Pritchard will return in about two weeks, although Mrs. Pritchard’s stay is indefinite due to her suffering from hay fever. Dick Isbell received a painful injurytto his thumb while at work in the Schultz factory in Elkhart last week. It required 7 stitches to close the wound, which was received on a saw. Miss Kathryn Yeager of Syracuse, is recovering satisfactorily in the McDonald hospital from an acute appendectomy late last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Noble Meyer spent the week-end in Chicago where they attended the Music Festival held at Soldier’s Field and visited the Sox ball park. \ Mr. J. H. Miller of Manchester will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Miller this week.
