• LOCALS • Miss Jean McClintic of Kalamazoo, is spending this week with her grandmother, Mrs. Deardorf. Rev. and Mrs. H. N. Thompson of Jackson, Michigan, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Bushong last week, leaving Friday to return to their home. Attorrney Harold Ackers and wife, of Anderson, Indiana, were the guests of Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Bailey, on Monday of this week, Monday evening, the local Ministerial Association will hold a fellowship dinner in the basement of the United Brethren church. All ministers and their families are invited. Mrs. E. Rentfrow and sister. Orria Vorhis, and Mrs. G. R. Worth and son, Phillip, of New Carlisle, were the Monday guests of Mrs. S. A. Bauer. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bauer and daughter, Opal, of Whiting, Indiana, also Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Baurer and daughter, Ruth, of Athens, Alabama, were the guests of Mrs. S. A. Bauer on Tuesday. Mr. Charles MacCherry of Chicago, spent the week-end visiting his mother, Mrs. Walter Ballard. Mr. Harry DeHart, Sr., of Toledo, Ohio, visited friends and relatives here Sunday, and was accompanied by home by his wife and daughter, Jean, who had been visiting Mrs. DeHart’s mother, Mrs. John Byland, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Paul LeCount. Mr. and Mrs. Paul McClintic and daughter, Renee, are visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Crow. Mr. Eddie Donoho of Frankfort, Indiana, is spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Hallie Holloway. Miss Marilin Holloway will return to Kansas City, Missouri, with Mr. and Mrs. James Carey, and son, to spend three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Dial Rogers of South Bend were visitors in Syracuse this week-end. Mrs. Charlotte Holloway and son, John, and Mrs. Wm. Darr, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Martin, on Wednesday. » —1 Mr. Rudolph Beckman has returned to Butlerville after spending his vacation in Syracuse. Miss Olga Beckman and Mr. Vernon Beckman visited Mr. O. Shaw in his new home in Indianapolis on Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Beyers entertained the vocational teachers of the county and their wives at a Sunday evening supper. Bridge was enjoyed during the evening. Mrs. Doris Sebens and son of Elkhart spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Harley. Mr. and Mrs. Van Cripe were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Harley. Mrs. Lawson Wise and sons and Mrs. Hanora Miles of Chicago spent the week-end in Syracuse. Mrs. Norman Kitson returned home Saturday after three weeks visit in Hammond and Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Beer and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beer of Milford spent several days in Michigan. Miss Isabell Remey spent severay days with Miss Barbara Bushong at her home this week. Mrs. Earl Edwards and Miss Madeline Stevens of Bobtown, Pa., were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Marsh, this ppst week. Mrs. Marjorie Connolly and Mr. Milton Rutter of Elkhart spent Sunday in Syracuse. John and Betty Holloway have returned to Fort Wayne for a few weeks. Mr, Lavan Insley will spend Saturday evening in South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Fobes aod daughters, Marcia and Janet, spent Monday and Tuesday in Chicago. Rev. and Mrs. J. S. Pritchard were in Knightstown, Indiana. Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday, visiting Mrs. Anna Pritchard, who is celebrating her ninety-first birthday anniversary this week. Jack Carr, who spent the past week with his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Hay, has returned home. Miss Daisy Stover, Mrs. Millard Hire and children, who have spent two weeks in Conrad, lowa, arrived home Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Sol Miller spent the week-end at Coldwater Lake, Michigan, as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Perry E. Ort. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Honert and daughter, Nancie Lou, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Knox H. Sterler, Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Hockman of Wheaton, Illinois, left Saturday morning after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Miles. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Grieger and daughter of Miami, Florida, are visiting their aunt, Mrs. Isabell Grieger. Mr. and Mrs. Eli Thomas and son, Billy, of Ithaca, New York, left Saturday, after spending two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Miles. Mr. and Mrs. Brenwood Fields and children, Brenna Dean and James Leßoy, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Riddle, all of Verdan, New Mexico, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Riddle and son, George Warren, of Butler, Mrs. Roy Riddle and Mrs. Millard Hire, were entertained in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Knox H. Stetler, Sunday.

SHULLS ENTERTAIN RELATIVES SUNDAY Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Shull were Mrs. Shull’s parent’s, Mr. and Mrs. William De laPoer of Huntington O county, and granddaughter, Miss Juanita Baker, Mr. and Mrs—Ray Emily, also of Huntington county, and Mrs. Shull’s sister, Mrs. C. L. Kissinger and son Paul, and daughters, Marjery and Frances, and Mr. and Mrs. Deloss Chupp and children, Doris Jean and Leon Chupp. Mrs. Chupp was Miss Wilma Kissinger before her marriage. Mrs. Kissinger’s home is at Morocco, Ind-, and Mr. and Mrs. Chupp live at Renssalaer, Indiana. Other callers during the day at the Shull home were Mrs. Martin Hoover and son, Carl, and daughters, Geneva and Louise, and Mrs. Hoover’s niece, Miss Leora, Mr. and Mrs. Donald LeCounts and children, Bobbie, Joyce, Sharon and Jean, and Mr. Ding Wogoman. GEORGE McKRILL HEADS BANKERS OF THIS COUNTY George McKrill, cashier of the Lake City bank,, was elected president of the Kosciusko County Bankers’ association Wednesday night during the annual dinner held at the South Shore Inn, Lake Wawasee. Mr. McKrill succeeds Robert Knepper of Etna Green, in this office. Others elected for the ensuing year were: James Jontz, of Claypool, vicepresident; and Jiggs Fenstermaker, Mentone, secretary-treasurer. Seventy-five members were present for the annual affair. Mrs. Elizabeth Bohanna of Denver found a coyote sleeping in a coop with her 20 hens, which did not seem to mind the intruder. Minnie, the pet cat of a hotel in St. Stephens, N. B., likes to go to the movies, and her favorite character appears to be Mickey Mouse. J. C. Campbell of Paducah, Ky., was sent to jail for obtaining a quarter under false pretenses. Alvin Fletcher of Quillayte, Wash., traveled 52 miles a day 180 days a year to get-to high school and win his diploma.
ATTEND COACHING SCHOOL Five Kosciusko county high school coaches, Rollo Neff, Syracuse; Robert Hahn, Beaver Dam; Thurl Metzger, Silver Lage; Dan Perry, Milford; and Hardy Songer, o: Burket, will attend the eleventh annual Indiana Basketball Coaching school to be held August 14-18, at Logansport. Dr. H. ,C. Carson, University of Pittsburgh mentor, will bring his varsity players for demonstrations during the Instruction.
