Dr. and Mrs. H. O. Janes visited at the O. N. Smith cottage over the week-end. Miss Willodean Mock of South Bend visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Mock, over the week-end. Mrs. Alvey Kendle of Goshen, and Mrs. Arthur Hellenburg and daughter, Judy, of Mishawaka, spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Mock. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Borten of Ligonier spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Catherman. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Gilbert of Indianapolis are spending two weeks at the Mock cottage Mr. and Mrs. Don Moore arid family of Dayton, 0., and friends have been occupying the Borncottage for the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shaman, well-known podiatrist of Dayton, Ohio, are staying in the Brown cottage this week. Dylo McEvoy, who has been visiting the O’Connors, left Tuesday for' her home in Chicago. George Pike, John Sutton, Don Fisher, Jack Kerby, and Frank Quinn, all of Indianapolis, spent the week-end here. Miss Betty Carey Reynolds has returned from the -New York World’s Fair. Mr. Ed Breslin from New York City is staying in the Mattingly cottage on the North Side. Miss Mary Jo Carton of Indianapolis will visit George O’Connor over the week-end. Mr. D. D. Stiver of Indianapolis, who has been vacationing at the lake, will return to his home Saturday. The Weaver family reunion was held at'ldeal Beach, Sunday. The Class of 1939 of the Chester high school, held their picme at Ideal Beach, last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Farrell spent last week-end in Chicago. Mr. Carl Rougher spent Monday evening visiting in Nappanee. Mir. and Mrs. Dan Teetor and family left recently .for an extensive tour throughout the East, including the New York World’s Fair. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Gingrich of Chicago, are spending a few weeks with their nephew, Bill Gingrich. Miss Maxine Deal visited friends at Oakwood Hotel last Sunday. Miss Deal was an employee of the hotel last summer. Mr. and Mrs. B. M. ‘Strube and family of Oak Park, Illinois, are spending several weeks in a cottage at Oakwood Park. Mr. and Mrs. George Bouse and family of Louisville, Kentucky, are spending a week at the Brumbaugh cottage. William “Doc” Hart visited his roommate, Henry Abts, of Vawier Park, recently.

Rev. R. H. Mueller and daughter, Margaret, of Indianapolis, are spending the week at Oakwood Hotel. Mrs. Emma Rothenberger, and Mrs. E. H. Struck, of Louisville, Ky., are spending two weeks at Oakwood Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cox from Cincinnati, Ohio, are spending the week at Rainbow cottage, No. • 1. Mrs. R. L. Cramer and children are’enjoying a few days at Rainbow cottage, No. 3. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sarver spent the week-end at the Miller cottage on Papakeechie Lake. The Delta Delta Delta sorority from Butler is staying at a cot- I tage at Willow Grove on the north shore. Mr. Bob Sexton, from Cleveland Heights. Ohio, is staying at the Mattingly cottage for the remainder of August. Mr. Oscar Easter and Mr. “Dutch” Bergman, coach at Catholic University, at Washington, D. C., spent the jveek-end with Mr. Frank Remy at Vawter Park. Miss Mary Claire Mattingly arrived from Larchmont, New York, recently to spend the remainder of the summer here. Miss Mattingly had also been visiting in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Ficher of Des Moines, lowa, were the weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. Ford of Maxwelton Manor. Mrs. J. H. Hilmes of Des Moines, lowa, was the guest of Mrs. Albert Penny, and Mrs. Paul Ford on Tuesday. Mr. Don Sheets spent Saturday and Sunday visiting at Oakwood Hotel. Mr. George O’Connor and Mr. John O’Conner arrived from Indianapolis Saturday to spend the rest of the summer with their respective parents. Mrs. George Dehler and Miss Rose Henckel of Louisville, have been vacationing at Oakwood Hotel. A group from the sales department of the Chevrolet Corporation held a tournament at the Wawasee Golf Club Sunday. The. men were all from Ohio. Mr. F. W. Greene spent Wednesday in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Joel Wilt, is working temporarily at the local telephone office. Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Keeling, Jr., spent the week-end at the South Shore Inn. Mrs. Ringling North of Sarasota, Florida, is now at the South Shore Inn. Mrs. Lehuian a dinner. Saturday night at the South -Shore Inn. Mrs. Selig of Ligonier gave a luncheon for 25 friends at the Sargent Hotel, Wednesday. On Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Warren T. Colwell attended the. wedding of Miss Virgina Ahein in the U. B. church in Ft. Wayne. On Wednesday noon, Mrs. Vanderford of Ligonier, entertained a party of eight at Sargent's Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Harman of Bluffton arrived Tuesday evening and left again for Chicago, Wednesday morning, where they attended the baseball game, with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zeddis, of Fort Waynej. Mr. Joe Lewis of Indianapolis will spend ihe rest of the season at the Crow’s Nest Inn. Mrs. William Hall of Cory Pa., is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Warren T. Colwell. Dr. Brown, who spent a month in the Zeller cottage, left recently for his home in Marion, Indiana. Mrs. Marie Flinn and family of Chicago are in Rainbow cottage, No. 2, this week. >. On Monday evening, a buffet supper and surprise party was given in honor of the birthday of Bill Lewis, who has been spending two weeks on the South Side.

The families of John and Roger Moynahan, Dick Pierce, Jack Leeth, and Bill Lewis visited them at the lake during the week-ena. Mr. and Mrs. Warren T. Colwell spent the week-end with Mrs. Connell in Fort Wayne. Employees of the Lincoln Life Insurance Co., held a dinner at Sargent’s Hotel, Friday evening, August 4, 1939. The 21 who attended came from Fort Wayne, Indiana. H. L. Freyn, a member of the Squire Club, which is vacationing on the South Side, left for his home in Indianalopis, Saturday. Another member, Jim Fant, spent Saturday in Indianapolis. James Blocki, of Chicago who is spending the summer at the summer home of his grandparents Dr. and Mrs. J. R. Laughlin, spent Wednesday visiting Laddie Laughlin. Mr. Dave Linsey, who has a cottage near the South Shore Inn for the month of August, flew to Florida for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Frank of Fort Wayne, have a cottage near the South Shore Inn for the remainder of the season. The Indiana Service of Fort Wayne will hold their tournament at Maxwelton Golf Club Saturday.

Fifty employees of the Penn Electric Company from Goshen will compete in a tournament at Maxwelton Saturday. Mrs. Blair Laughlin and son. Laddie were dinner guests of Mrs. J. R. Laughlin, Tuesday evening. Peter and Herb Foster of Bluffton will visit Mr. Bill Williamson at the Maxwelton Golf Club Monday. Mr. Blair Laughlin spent the first 4 days of this week m Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. George Ross and family are vacationing at the South Shore Inn. The Saterka club of Indianapolis has been spending two weeks at the lake on the South Side. Bob Stnattman and Bob Anderson spent last week with them, while John Miller, Mike Rudd. Jerry Eaton, Warren Underwood, spent the week-end.
