Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Shock and son, Joe, were callers Thursday evening in the Fred Kuhn. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Hamman and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Buck were Sunday evening callers in the Martin McClintic home. When the eaves of a park building in Shelby, Ida., caught fire, firemen discovered that a sparrow had carried a lighted cigarette stub to its nest.

Dale Mock and wife spent last Tuesday night with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bishop, of 'near Leesburg, it being Mr. Bishop’s birthday. Mary Ann Pinkerton and Betty Smith entertained a few friends at their birthday party Saturday afternoon at the Edw. Smith home. Refreshments of Ice cream and cake were served. Shirley Peters returned home with her parents after a week’s visit in the Darr home. Mr. and Mrs. LaTone Jenson were Friday evening callers at the C. Darr home. Mr. Hummel and Dew Eisenhauer were callers, also. Mr. and Mrs. Harry are moving in the near future from the old Cory farm, now the farm of Mrs. Dillon, to the farm formerly known as the Cooper place. The Strum and Dillard gravelpit is a very busy place. A large amount of gravel is going on the many miles of black-top roads. 0 Bethany 0 by Mrs. Wm. Sheffield Rev. Milo Geyer, who has been very ill for the past month, remains the same. His wife, Mrs. Geyer, also became ill last Friday. Mrs. Lizzie Duker, who has been ill for the past year, remains the same. Mrs. Neva Niles of Oakwood Park spent Tuesday evening with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Sheffield. Mr. and Mrs. George Neff and children of Fair Lawn, wre guest of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Neff. Mrs. Mary DeLaughter, Mrs. Clemens Bonawitz of North Manchester were guests of their sister, Mrs. Floyd Rowdbaugh from Monday until Friday of last week. Mr. David McGarity, Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
