Mr. and Mrs. Willard Zellinger Mrs. Kathryn Mathews, Mrs. Ida Zellinger of New Paris spent Sunday evening at the Ernie Mathewr* home. Those who spent Sunday at the Silas Gilbert home were Joe Lantz and family, Chester Middleton and wife and Maxwell Middleton and family of New Mexico. CHILD INJURED BY ROMAN CANDLE Pat Finton, aged four, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Finton of this city was seriously injured when a Roman candle, he was attempting to set off, exploded in his hand and severely burned his right hand and arm, last Tuesday, July 4th. X' Mr. Finton, local electric, company employee, and his small son Were settihg off fireworks at their home when the accident happened, and the lad was immediately rushed to the office of a local physician for treatment. Treatment for the prevention of lock jaw was also administered as the hand was dressed. COUNTY ESCAPES FOURTH OF JULY PARADE OF DEATH Kosciusko county escaped this year without a fatality, being one of the few Communities to do so. That no reports of drownings or death from accidents or fireworks have been made is very commendable when we consider the number of lake s and resorts that we have in the county and the amount of traffic that passes through the citie s and towns located near here. PARENTS OF SON Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lindsey, of South Bend, announce the arrival of an eight and one-fourth pound son, Roger LaMarr, born on Jun® 28 th. Mrs. Lindsey will be remembered as the former Frieda Foust of Syracuse, who moved to South Bend some time ago. Both the mother and the new sou are reported as doing very nicely.

Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Klingman and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Klingman. Mr. and Mrs. Martin McClintic were Thursday evening guests In the Dean Hite home. Glenn Click was a caller Sunday morning in the Jacob Click home. Sunday dinner guests in the Jona s Cripe home were Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Shock of Goshen. J. W. FURNAS TO TEACH AT MILFORD J. W. Furnas, formerly >f Westfield, Ind., has been secured to teach the vocational agriculture classes at Milford high school during the forth coming year. He is a graduate of Purdue University. It is thought that Mr. Furnas will divide his time between the Milford and the Leesburg schools.

SYRACUSE BOY TO EXHIBIT IN SHEEP SHOW Kosciusko county will be well represented in the third an mal Fort Wayne District Lamb show which will be held in that city on Thursday, July 6, County Agent Joe Clark said. There are 29 exhibitors entered earlier in the year from Allen, Dekalb, Adams, Fulton, Huntington, Kosciusko, Noble, Stueben and Whitley counties. Entries from Kosciusko county in the Hoosier Cold Medal Sheep club exhibits are Rtid.y L. Ross, Jackson township; Cloid P. Swartz, Warsaw, and Harold Wilson, Milford. Four-H club entries from Kosciusko county are: Harold Wilson, Milford; Irwin Knoop, Claypool; John Bee s on, Mentone; Lawrence Stevens, Mentone; Richard Baumgartner, Syracuse; Max Warner, Sidney; and Alfred Beyer, Warsaw. The Lembs will be graded and judged in the pens as. they arrive at the Fort Wayne Union Stock yards Thursday morning. July 6, by Claude Harper, Henry Mayo, and Jack Frost, all of the Purdue animal husbandry department. In addition to the Gold Medal lambs, there will be pens of 4-H lambs in pens of three and pens of five. All pens of lambs will be placed on finished, quality, conformation and uniformity.
