TO OONTINUR SERVICES The Senior B. L. C. B, u-dar the supervision of Rev. Purdy, has decided to continue their services throughout the summer months. In the past, they had discontinued their meetings for part of the summer because so many members were either working or away. All young people of high school age and above are cordially invited to come to the Methodist church each Sunday at 6:15 P. M. (DST). Miss Katherine Dillen i g helping with the league work this summer in the absence of Lois Davis, the league president. Miss Dillen will be glad to welcome all young people, visitors and residents of Syracuse and vicinity to the E. L. C. E. services. Cooperation of both young people and adults will be greatly appreciated, according to Miss Dillen. •Many worthwhile and interesting events are being planned for ’ the summer. Among them, visits t o Oakwood Park and Epworth Forest, oportunity to attend an “old-fashioned box social,” etc. Watch for further news in the Journal. . Remember, you are welcome to attend their meetings and enjoy the opportunity for Christian fellowship and service. GIRL SCOUTS TO HOLD INVESTURE SERVICE On Friday evening, June 30th, the Girl Scouts will present their Investure Services at the Methodist church yard at 7:30 P. M. Pins and badges will be presented to all tenderfoot scouts at this meeting to which every parent is urged to attend. In caae of rain, the services will be held in the eburch, so everyone is requested to arrange their work so that they may be there, “rain or shine.”

ENJOY GLASS PARTY The Fellowship class of the local M. ‘E. church held a party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Mlles one evening recently, under the surveillance of Mr. Noble Blocker, who Is the teacher of the class. Twenty-two members et the class were present who enjoyed the weiner roast and potluck snPper which was prepared over the open oven. t- After the. lunch, the group re.tired to the screened-in cottage where they spent a fine evening singing old-time songs in the moonlight. DIVIDENDS PAYABLE HAMMOND, IND., June 27 — The equivalent of a full quarterly, dividend was declared today on x the preferred stock of the Northern Indiana Public Service Company by the board of directors of the uitllity at its monthly meeting. The dividend is payable July 14 to stockholders of record June 30 - The payments will be 1 3-4 per ' cent or $1.75 per share, on 7 per cent preferred, 11-2 per cent, or $1.50 per share, on 6 per cent preferred and 1 3-8 per cent, or ‘ $1.37 1-2 per share, on 5 1-2 per cent preferred stock. PYTHIAN SISTERS MEET The Pythian Sisters met at the home of Angela Edmonds Tuesday, June 27. After the delicious dinner a short business meeting was held, closing with a beautiful and impressive memorial service for the deceased sisters of Loyal Temple, No. 130.
