Purdy. FAIR HOUSING New York—Surveys indicate that visitors to the New York World’s Fair 1939 will be able to obtain desirable accommodation in any price range. There are 133,334 hotel rooms in the city; hostelries in suburban communities have 50,000 rooms; Y. M. C. A. clubhouses and similar semi-public institutions provide 40,000, and those in apartments and rooming houses add 120,000 more. Thus, the total transient accommodation is 343,334 rooms. LEAGUE NEWS The Epworth League met October 9th at the Methodist church'. There were twenty-two present. The de-
votions were led by Lois Davis. The discussion was led by Clarence Bitzer. The members of the league are planning to attend the midyear institute. It is to be held for five Tuesday nights, beginning October 11, at Nappanee. Let’s all go to this institute every night and have a large representation from Syracuse. Sixty young people enjoyed the skating party Wednesday night, October sth, sponsored by the Epworth League.
