state will not disregard, this notice, but will return them immediately. Those knowing where State Books are, are requested to inform me so that I can obtain them. It mav be some of the Booksoutmay not have the words "State, Library'''1 in them, or, as I have found, -with those words ciTaefd and wtlifcra written in their place. This is one reason for publishing a list ol missing Books. It will be seen by the list that many
of the lost Books render useless whole sets of very valuable works. Take for example Rees' Encyclopedia Americana, The 1 7th volume is missing; consequently a set of 47 vol times i3 broken. Who can have this Bonk an not know (lint he is not the lawful owner? This is only one case out of manv. Give the Books up and you will feet better, and the Slate will be much ac comniodaled. I hope this will be the last time I shall have to present this matter to the public in this manner. There is an exercise each day; first in the Principles of Law consistine of recitations, lectures, and examinations; and secondly, in the Practice of Law embracing the discussion of the various forms of legal instruments and judicial proceedings, together with exercises in the Moot Court.. The whole course is arranged and conducted in a mode suited to beginners, and with a view to include, as far as possible, a general outline of the law in a single session. . The terms are 50 for the session, payable in advance; and no deduction for part of the time, -This has no reference to t.he office tuition, for which students can make their own arrangement's. -The requisites for the degree of Bachelor of Laws, are, that the candidate shell attend at least one session, and shall pass an exaniinai ion to be made by a committee of le-al gentlemen designated by the Hoard of Trustees, nnd instructed to consider the standard of qualification fora degreee the same, as for admission to the bar. An extra charge of 5 is made for a Diploma. Students can have access to a good Library, and the Conns are almost constantly in session in file City. The price nf board ranges from Sri to $6 per week.
