Jacob l'ryer ami family, of Monterey, visited with his father a few days this week. They have succeeded in raising s7o for the benefit of the new church. Henry Jarrell entertained a large number of relatives and friends at his home on last Friday in honor of the

eighty-second birthday anniversary of his mother, known as Crandma Jarrell. The relatives partook of an elegant and enjoyable dinner. (Irandma is a kind and affectionate old lady, beloved and esteemed by all who know her. She is a kind and devoted Christian. As a mother, loving and true, she delights the younger generation with her stories of life years ago when she was a little girl. We wish her a succession of birthdays. Uev. Üurton organized an Kpwoith League at the M. F.. church last Sunday afternoon. The league will meet every Sunday evening. Quite a number have been improving the sleighing by hauling logs. Frank Johnson's youngest child is reported sick with the measles. Mary Walterhouse's baby is quite poorly with a very bad cold. William Walterhouse, Sr., returned to his home in Cando. X. D., March Ith. Mrs. Walterhouse will go with the colony. A. D. Johnson attended the Salvation army at South l.end Friday evening of last week. He said tie listened to some very ine music while there. A surprise s :pper was given at the home of John Haag Saturday, it being his sixty-fourth birthday. The friends did not go empty handed. They were also entertained by some tine music by Messrs. Miafei, Wallace and lloberson. All enjoyed themselves hugely and left wishing him many returns of the day. The ladies of the l B. sewing society and neighbors, numbering thirtylive, met at the home of Mrs. Samuel Diperd, four miles west of this place, and spent the day in sewing, Uev. The creamery is running in full blast and if present indications can be relied on it will run to its full capacity in a few weeks.
