LOCAL. Addison Township Convention. ' The Addison Township Convention, for the nomination ot Township officers, will be held mt Corj'g Hall instead of the Court House, as previously announced. Let there be a gen eral turn out of the Democracy. Arrival of Capt. Jack Fiinn. It was our inexpressible pleasure, on Tuesday last, to once anin take by the hand our eld and eteeincd friend Capt. Jack Flikx, who arrived in this City on 3ronday evening, having been released from the famous Libby Frism in Richmond one week previous. We re pleased to say that he is looking much better than his friends had been leei to eipcct. He was an inmato of the prison for near a year. The trials through which he has passed, Lis drawing of the fatal lot and condemnation ' te death ia retaliation for the two Confederate f - i officers executed by Iiurnidft, are wl known to the community. Ilia description 'of prison life and fare ia not sufficiently inviting to induce any one to voluntarily take up quarters in Libby, although as a jreneral rule he was as kindly treated by the Confederate officers at could bo expected, and much to li is surprise the money taken from him on his entrance into the institution whs returned on his release. He gives tho credit for the release of himself, 'eal Dow and Capt. Sawyer, to Hon. Trio's A. Hendricks. It appears that he learned from an attache in the ofueu of Got.. Winder, commander of the prison, that ifthw Federal government would make the proposition to exchange Gen. Fitzhugh Lee, Capt. Tyler and Capt. Winder for Gen. Neal Dow, Capt. Flian and Capt. Sawyer, the Confederate government would accept it. Capt. Fiinn itnnediatoly wrote to Mr. Hendricks stating the propasition and requesting him to use his influence in the premises. Mr. II. called upon the President the same evening he received the letter, read it to him and demanded that ome action be immediately taken. He received an order from the President to Gen. Hitchcock, Gsn. Agent of exchange, commanding him to at once make the proposition, which was immediately done, and the business which would have required weeks or months to accomplish had it been in some liands or even passed through the War Department was accomplished in quite as inany lours.
