Xj O O -A- Xi - Court of Common Fleaa. We are requested to state that the ' November term of the Shelby Couit of Common Pleai, by request of udge Baskirk, and tho concurrent consent of the members of the bar of this county, "will be postponed from the first Monday until the second Wednesday of November. Those having business before the Court will please take notice and govern themsalves accordingly. treasurers Office Entered. On Saturday or Sunday night the Treasures office of this county was enter ed by means of false keys and pretty thoroughly rumaged one of the drawers in the kesk opened by means of false Jkejs and the wood work over the bolt of Vthe other cut away, but no money was taken, pimply because there was none there to take, and as far as ascertained the enterprising burglar or burglars got tia other reward for their dangerous ven ture than a gold pen. Now, to save this class of gentry all fu ture trouble, we will inform them that no considerable amount of money is ever left in the Treasurers office over night, if any at. all it is a few dollars in small ' change, seldom if ever exceeding five dol lars. We will also just mention that a contract has been mule with parties in Cincinnati to supply the doers of the different offices in the Court House with burglar proof locks, immediately. Couldn't See it. Eden II. Davis, in his remarks at the drunken jollification on the Wednesday night after the election, congratulated his shoddy fellow citizens that they had achieved a gallant triumph in Shelby county. Andy is said to have remarked that he was sorry he could not see it in that light, andweques" tion if any of Mr Davis' hearers were able to convince their own minds that luch was the case. New asd Fashioxahle. The ladis and such of the masculine gender as may foci interested in such affair?, are requested to take notice that M. II. T. Underwpop, who done nil that the art of surgery could do, but there is little hope of his recovery. His father was drowned in Flat Rock River something like a year since. XfiT This is the season that new hats and caps are in demand. Those purposing tn supply their wants in this line at Indianapolis, should call at Bambergers, nearly opI osite (ilenn's Uloek. XiT" Our thanks are tendered lion. Henry S Lane, for various favors in the way of public documents. ... .... . , , .. - Rascality Over reach ixo Itself. So anxious were the abolitionists to carry the election iu this county that in many localities they voted two and three tickets folded together their ticket being small and printed on thin paper was well adapted for this purpose. In their eagerness to commit a fraud on the sanctity of the ballot box they forgot that all the ballots so cast would be vitiated the law expressly providing that where two or more ballots shall have been voted by the same person folded together, all of them shall be thrown out. te5u Daniel Webster was a far seeing man He once made a prediction in a speech in Congress, which was as follows. The reader can judge for htofelf whether tint prediction has been fulfilled : "If these infernal fanatics and abolitionists eTer get the power in their hand, they will override the Constitution, set the Supreme Court at defiance, change and make laws to euit themselves, lay violent hands on those who differ in opinion, or dare question their fidelity, bankrupt the country, and deludge the land with blood."
