This if the first time for the fire years we hart published the VoLCSTKEft that mishap of this kind has befallen us, and we (hall hereafter take such precautions as will make it the last. --" ' ii'i i i t- "i r . Consistent Emissaries. Andj.Winterrowd has something near a doten hired emissaries prearobulating this count retailing the tilest slanders ng&inst the Democratic candidates, and. especially Mr. Blair. Thej. are .mostly abolition Sari, but now nnd then a subsidited andreneeade Demcrat will be found among them men who hare become too degraded in their own estimation to longer affiliate with the party, and consequently hnre thrown themselves into the filthy slough of abolitionism. ' All of these hireling miscreants claim to be Democrats wolves in sheeps clothing but manyof them never voted a Democratic ticket in their live?.

One will approach a Democrat and say that

Blair is spending money for whiskey, while at the same time he is reeking ?with nirmeV out potations of this beverage; and his breath nearly knocks down the person lo whom he is making this disclosure and the chances are ten to one that before he leaves he will pull a bottle of "tanglefoot" out of his pocket and ask you to imbibe, with the compliments and at the expense of Andy Winterrowd, whose money bought the whiskey, as well as the tool that carries it The same subsiddised hireling may also inform you, as has been done, that Mr. Blair is spending the money of infant heirs in his possession, and the money bolongingto estates, for electioneering purposes. This, it is hardly necessary to say, is utterly false. Mr. Blair has plenty of money of his own, and had the first offer ef the services of many of these Winterrowd hirelings and debauches, which he declined. It may also be proper to say that Mr, Blair gives ample security for the safe keeping of all money that comes into his possession, and even if he spends it for electioneering purposes it is no loss to the rightful owners, as his sureties are bound for all defalcations. This practice of hired emissaries h one peculiar to the abolition party, and better

than anything else illustrates its want of

character, it flagrant dishonesty, mendacity

and meanness-showB that it is shameless

and unscrupulous in the methods employed

to achieve sueessand every hottest and upright citizen should jdace his teal of con

demnation upon a party that will counter)

ance such practices, to say nothing of its other short comings, its encouragement of monocracy and disregard of law. its usurpations and startling corruptions its thievings and rascalities its fanaticism and official imbecilities its disregard of the interests nnd welfare of the white man and its devotion to the negro. The man who rotes for Andy Winterrowd endorses all these iniquities. -

John G Green k Co., who take . to falsehood

and misrepresentation as naturally as their intellectual equals, geese, tak to water. This excellent embodiment of abolitionism endeavors to make a point in his meaningles harrangnet to the small gatherings of children and political fanatics that are sometimes got together in the oat Townships, out of an expression of oars si Iiondon, to the affect wt were not a "loyal man." . W said t "as the term is now used we are free to say we are not a loyal man!' The abolitionists say that Lineoln U the government and that thfyire loyal to the government According to the

definition of Webster loyalty implies fidelity

to a prince or sovereign. We ows no alle

giance to Abe Lincoln we are no subject,

but an American citizen a sovereign ra our j

right, owing obediance to the Constitution and the laws. According to our idea of loy nlty there neyer was but one class of loyalists in this country, and they were the Tories of the Revolution, who acknowledged allegiance to King George." This is the purport of our remarks on "loyalty," and' we might further say that we repudiate the monarchical phrase the better to distinguish us from such jdimr patriots as the abolition bloviaters in this locality.

The cheapest clothing, as a general rule, is the dearest Garments well made and from substantial materials wear well and look well until worn out, retaining their lustre to the last There are few persons however that are good enough judges of cloths to detect the impositions so extensively practiced by a casual examination of the fabric in the piece it is therefore all essential that they should deal with persons of proverbial honesty with men who think more of their word and the reputation of their establishment than a few paltry dollars To those of our, readers purposing procuring their supply of Fall and Winter Clothing in Indianapolis we would recommend the establishment of J. & P.
