German Students Attend Convention

(Continued from page I) liards, bike race, basketball free throws, track, badminton, and bowling. It wasn’t all play, though. Every morning the nearly 350 students met to discuss NFSG business at the genera] sessions. Much of the time was spent amending the constitution. “Indiana came away with * lot of honors,” noted Sandy Mays, pointing out the fact that a boy from Columbus was elected recording secretary. This was the only office voted on at the convention. Lana Welcher added that another boy from Indiana won four of five gold medals for swimming. Speedway had its share of honors, too. Sandy won the book, Sranken, for folk dancing, and Gayle won Mozart und Seine Zeit for her performance in the band. Gayle also made it to the finals in bowling while Marty Dickerson and Laura Weiss missed them by 1 and 5 points, respectively.

Everyone had his favorite activity. Julie, Sandy and Gayle liked die Masquerade Ball that highlighted die last evening. Bowling in the Olympics appealed to Peggy, while Laura liked die activity groups. Katherine, Jim and Marty favored the dances held each evening, while Lana enjoyed the folk dancing. Mr. Roe felt that the best result of the convention was that Ball State University was named first choice for next year’s convention.
