Danton W. Marnitz Named Manager Of Prudential Agency
Danton W. Marnltx was recently named manager of the Prudential Insurance Company’s Speedway district agency, now located at 5011 West 16th Street The district headquarters were formerly located at 4912 West 16tt Street. Prior to assuming his new duties, Mr. Marnitz was training consultant for Prudential’s Indiana district agencies. He joined the company as an agent in the Wabash (Ind.) branch office of the Kokomo district agency, in 1963. Two years later, he was transferred to Fort Wayne and in 1967 was advanced to sales manager in O.E.S. Meeting Set Members of the Speedway O.EJS. will gather for a stated meeting at 8 pan., on Tuesday, May 9. The program will honor “mothers”. Master Councilor Tom Hoage, Order of DeMolya, will give the “Rose Talk” and the thought for the day will be “Happiness is not a possession until it is shared.”
May 6 Is Next Pick-Up For Project Recycle Traffic problems caused by the 500 Mile Race Qualification Day will suspend the Project Recycle pick-up, announced Pat Baldwin, Recycle president. Saturday, May 6, is the next pick-up day. The usual Ist and 3rd Saturday schedule will begin again in June, with June 3 and June 17 the recycle pick-up dates. AARP Announces
The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) announces a workshop for tte instruction of its Indiana chapters to be held on May 25, at Marion, Indiana. Directors of Speedway Chapter No. 814 of AARP accepted tte invitation to tte gathering at its monthly meeting last week at tte home of Mrs. Esther Thompson, 1714 Gerrard Avenue, President of tte Chap, ter. Mrs. Thompson appointed eight members of tte Chapter to serve as delegates to the meeting. They are; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Daley, 1734 N. Gerrard; Mrs. Irene Hotle, 1169 N. Concord; Mrs. Mildred Melbert, 1822 N. Norfolk, Mrs. Russell Peterson, 2243 Winton; Mrs. Veva Rippy, 3343 Ashley; Mrs. Jessie Stevenson, 1668 Christopher Lane, Chapter vice-president and Mrs. Thompson, president. The workshop will be under tte general supervision of tte AARP State Director, C.W. Hemmer, of Richmond. Mrs. Thompson also announces tte election of Mrs. Stevenson as one of tte four State voting delegates who will attend tte biennial National convention of AARP in Washington, D.C., June 12-15. In keeping with National Senior Citizens Month assigned to the month of May by President Nixon, Speedway Chapter will have as its guests for its May meeting on Sunday, tte 7th of May, in Speedway United Methodist Church, tte Senior Citizens Choral Group from tte downtown Senior Citizens Center. Dr. Hansen has authored or co-authored numerous books and technical papers. Rites Held Fer Local Resident Services were to be held May 3, 1972, in Conkle Speedway Chapel, for Herbert Arthur Jones, 1773 Lyndhurst Drive. He died April 30, 1972 in Methodist Hospital. Mr. Jones was a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines for 28 years before retiring in 1965. He was a member of Brookside Masonic Lodge No. 720, Scottish Rite and tte Lyndhurst Baptist Church. Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Reggie M. Jones, daughters, Nadean Bremer and Martha Augustine, a son Robert Lee Jones, a sister, Fern Thomas, and brothers, Estel Jones, Fay Jones and Elbert Jones.

Mr. Marnitz graduated from Indiana Business College in 1967 where be majored in cost accounting. Mr. Marnitz and his wife, Ann, live in Danville, Indiana, and are tte parents of two children.

Cadettes Enjoy Busy Month
April was a very busy and enjoyable month for Cadette Troop 219 beginning with a tour of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation on April 2L The group attended religious servicesand were greeted with a social hour. On April 24 they attended an open house at the new Noble School facility on Tibbs Avenue, and had a volley ball game with the team from the Girls School on April 26. On April 29, the troop combined a “Keep America Beautiful Day” project with a ten mite hike around Eagle Creek Park. About 30 bags of litter were picked up along the route and the 17 Scouts and 2 guests followed their work day with a weiner roast. May promises to be a busy mouth also as the Cadettes have accepted the responsibility of cleaning up around the recycle wagons once a week. They have also planned a 2 day trip to Broom Sage Dude Ranch this week end. Federated Women Plan May Meeting The Speedway Area Federated Women’s Chib will meet on May 12, at 9:30 ajn., in the Community Room of the Speedway Public Library. Rev. C. Raymond Earle will speak to the members on “The Family’s Role in Ecology.” Hostesses for the meeting will be Mrs. E.B. Tillson and Mrs. Claude Stewart.
