License Tags Will Go On Sale Monday
Marion County License Bureau announced on December 23 that motor vehicle license plates for 1972 will go on sale January 3. January 31 is the deadline for all commercial and lease vehicles and February 28 is the deadline for trucks and car owners with last initials beginning A through C. 0. Lee Richardson, director of the Marion County License Bureaus, recommends that vehicle owners order plates by mail for convenience and to avoid standing in lines at one of eight license branches in various areas of the city. The closest branch to the Speedway area is located at 2835 Lattyette Road. Whether your last name begins with A or Z, you can buy plates beginning January 3. The cost of the license plate is $12.25. A state excise tax must be paid at the same time you buy your license plate. If you order the plate by mail, an additional 75-cent charge is made. Cash or certified checks will be accepted at branch windows. When the plate is ordered by mail, a personal check is acceptable, but a wait of 10 days to two weeks for plates will be necessary. Personal checks must clear the bank before plates will be mailed. Address for ordering plates by mail: License Branch #232, P.O. Box 441008, Indianapolis, Indiana, Zip Code 46206.

Thiß'n That by Kay Evritt (Continued hem page 3> Christmas stars through a blackened eye after colliding with her charge and niece. KATHY KARST and KATHY HARRIS are plotting to hopelessly confuse the other girls next year in their residence hall at Purdue by being room mates. (They're crossing their fingers for Earhart Hall.) Not only are they both Kathy's, they both live in Speedway on Maplewood Drive and have long hair and die same shoe size! JIM WAGNER, ex-Sparkplug who moved :o Virginia,' visited his grandparents over vacation. School (forgive the dirty six letter word) will be a relief for KATHLEEN TRAGER. She'll need the vacation after two weeks of concentrated shopping, babysitting, house cleaning, and visiting in Plainfield for Christmas! Love those tacos! PATTY GLESSNER and RAMONA OVERMAN have worn a path to the Taco Bell. According to Patty, they ate there almost every day last week. The Student Theater Christmas party at KATHY TOMLINSON'S went carolling for a certain anonymous incapacitated Speedway-Flyer-Journal columnist. (Thanks. Break a leg.)
