Camp Fire Girls Hold Annual December Dinner

Christmas and friendship was the theme carried out at the De* cember ceremonial held by members of OKiCiYa Pi Group 146 Camp Fire Girls last Thursday. The lighting of the candles designated the amount of honors earned by the girls since their last ceremonial in June. The girls each contributed an original piece on friendship and Mrs. Cecil Poe and Mrs. Mike Malast, Guardians, an* nounced that the amount of Honor Beads earned by the group from 1970 was 1293. During the meeting special awards of portable stools were awarded to the girls selling over 100 boxes or cans of Camp Fire Candy during the recent sale. The high sales gals were

Christy Malast, 120; Lori Fleener, 156; Renda Hilton, 158; and Rhonda Poe, 161. Rhonda also earned the sales charm for top seller in the group. The three top sellers will receive sleeping bags and the fourth girl will receive a 29 inch Spoofer Dog. Group 146 also had high sales in District VI which included the fringes of Indianapolis to Pittsboro. The group will receive a trophy and set of flags from the District for selling a grand total of 979 boxes and cans.

Tula Parties To Highlight Weekend

Last minute Christmas shopping will be ignored this weekend as numerous Speedway residents welcome friends into their homes for a bit of holiday cheer. Families will also begin to gather in several homes to welcome the busy week ahead. On Saturday, December 18, Mr. and Mrs. WUliamA. Thomas will greet about twenty-five friends as they gather for a 6:30 open house. The Thomas home will shine with colors of blue and green and a fresh tree will be trimmed with gold and blue decorations for the event. The holiday table at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph P. Morgan will be filled with cheese balls, smoked oysters, ham, and other taste tempting items as friends arrive for an 8:00 pan., get together on Friday, December 17. Traditional Christmas decorations will fill the Morgan home and holi-

day music will welcome their guests. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ralston will welcome Mrs. Ralston's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Schaefer of Boston, when they arrive Friday, to spend the Christmas holiday. Mr. Ralston's parents, Mr. and Mr s. John Ralston of Indianapolis, will join the group for dinner at 7 pan. Cutting down your own Christmas tree can be son, particularly when there are two able boys in the family. Thanks to the efforts of Jim and Brad Kelley, the Speedway home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kelley, now spirts an 8 foot tree decorated with traditional colored lights and balls. Popcorn and cranberries were added to create an old time accent. The Kelley's will show off their tree during a 6 to 8 p.m, open house in their home Sunday.

Holiday Parties Set At Westwood ‘ On Friday, December 17, the Westwood Country Chib will welcome 4th, sth, and 6th graders to a "splash party" at the club from 7:30 pan, to 9:30 p.m. A gift exchange is planned and there will be prizes and treats for all. The price of the party will be 500 for members and 750 for guests. The Kiddies Christmas party at the club will take place from 2:00 pan. to 3:00 pan.., on Saturdey, December 18. Santa will be on hand with surprises and cartoons will be shown. Members will not be charged for this event. Guests will be 500. All members are reminded to make their reservations now for the club’s New Years Eve Dance on Friday, December 31. The 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 aan. party will feature the music of The Fashionaires and a midnight buffet will be served. Sorority Yule Party 1$ Planned Tonight Members of Xi Alpha Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet for a Christmas party in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Furgeson, 1948 Kinlock Drive, this evening. Chapter members and their husbands will travel on to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Foulke, 9508 N. Msridian St. for. a cocktail hour before their dinner in the Hollyhock Hill Restaurant. Assisting Mrs. Foulke and Mrs. Furgeson with arrangements are Mrs. George Braden and Mrs. Gordon Thrane.

Castle Craig Meeting Set Mrs. Carl Waterfall, 2722 Vinewood Drive, will welcome members of the Castle Craig Chapter of International Travel Study Chib for a Christmas celebration this evening at 8 p.m, Miss Martha Gardner will serve as co-hostess for the party which will feature a $1 gift exchange. Mrs. Noble Reynolds will be the speaker for the meeting.
