Charity Game Is Planned
The Speedway Fire Department will be playing members of the Speedway Police Department in the second annual Benefit basketball game on Monday, Dec. 20. Tip-off for the game will be 8 p.m., in the Speedway Junior High School gym. Proceeds from the game this year will go to the children of Riley Hospital. Anyone wishing to make a donation

Speedway Lions Club annual Christmas Tree sale is underway at the lot on Crawfordsville Road, just east of Graves Standard Service Station. Hours that the lot will be open are from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturdays and Sundays. The Christmas Tree sale is an annua] event, having been c&rried on by Speedway ttons ' tor about 20 years, about ten years atthe present, according to Clyde Clevenger, treasurer tor toe project.
Report Fraa Fire Depirtneil Speedway Fire Department reports fire loss for November of SIOOO, S7OO of which was incurred in vehicle fires, the rest in building tires. Six vehicle fires were reported. and seven building fires, of which only two were in dwellings. No grass fires or trash fires were reported (hiring the month. Two of the building fires were listed under suspicion of arson as the cause. Careless use of gasoline caused one, and appliances, three. Of alarms other than fires, two* were malicious false alarms, and three runs were made for emergencies other than fire. No injuries resulted from any of the fires.
