Halfback carl Allen stretches for every available yard in an attempt to gain a first down against Pike last week on the Plugs field. Allen gained die first down by extending the hall (see arrow) over the necessary distance. The Plugs did not gain enough first downs, however, as the visiting Red Devils pounded the Sparkplugs 38-6. The loss left die Speedway varsity with a record of one victory against seven losses tor the season.
