The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Slattery, 1914 N. Whitcomb, Speedway. She is a graduate of Indiana State University. Her husband, a senior at Indiana State University, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl P. Butts of Veedersburg, Indiana. The bride wore a fUH length gown of white satin, lace and pearls for the 11:30 a.m., service. She carried an assorted bouquet of garden flowers. Her attendants included Jackie Slattery, Susie Green, Em Guilders Cage Open Bargains in antiques, uniques and collectibles for the public will highlight the first anniversary celebration of the “Guilded Cage” at the Goodwill Industries plant store, 1635 W. Michigan St., Saturday, September 12. This boutique corner is operated by the Goodwill Service Guild, the workshop’s auxiliary
Sylvester and Ellen Benefield. The groom was attended by John Brown, Tom Sylvester, Walter Benefield and Dick Crider. Following the wedding, which was conducted by Father Joseph Beechem, a garden reception was held at the bride’s home. After their wedding trip to Cincinnati, the couple took up residence in their home at 200 Farrington, Apartment 117, in Terre Haute.

She is a graduate of South Dade High School and received her B.A. degree in English from the University of South Florida. Her fiance was born in Indianapolis and graduated from MacDonald High School in Quebec. He received a B.A. degree in busines administration from the University of South Florida. Firefighters To Attend Ohio State Five firefighters from the Speedway Fire Department will be attending the Ohio State University in September to take a course on Fire Prevention and Inspection. This is a course for fire service personnel who are just entering the fire prevention field or who wish to establish an inspection program in their community. Organization for fire prevention, the legal aspects of fire prevention and requirement for life safety will be covered. The following firefighters will attend: Asst. Chief FirePrevention Director Harry Downs, Lt. Fred Zorniger, Lt. Melvin Lucas, Firefighter Jim Thompson and Firefighter Larry Graves.
