Capt and Mrs. Gregory L. Mlkkelsen California Wedding Held In July

Miss Joan Arleen Johnson and Captain Gregory Leif Mlkkelsen were married on July 26, in the LaCanada Presbyterian Church In La Canada, California, during a 2:30 p.m., service conducted by Rev. Jerry Tankersly. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Walter Johnson of LaCanada, Calif. She is a graduate of California State Polytechnical University. Mrs. Mlkkelsen has beenllv-’ ing In Germany the past year and teaching elementary school children at the U.S. Army base In Schweinfurt, Germany. She will return this fall to teach another year while her husband is in Vietnam. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leif Mlkkelsen, 6102 Midway Court, Indianapolis. He is a graduate of Indiana University and a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He Is a Captain in the United States Army. For the wedding the bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a cotton Venese lace and organza gown in white. The lace accented the bodice and encircled the wide Beau de Solre hem. The sleeves were short and fitted in lace and the bride’s bandeau headpiece was fashioned of the same lace as contained on the gown and held a four tier veil of English illusion. She carried a cascade of white phalaenopsis orchids interspersed with stephanotis. The center of the bridal bowquet, when removed, became her going away corsage. Mrs. Alvin Ayres served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Kimberly Mlkkelsen, sister of the groom and Miss Linda Diana Cate. The attendants wore long white polyester dresses, especially designed with a long gathered fail trailing In the back. A circle of white illusion over pale yellow ribbon bows accented with white daisies was worn as their headWestwood Bridge Winners Named Duplicate winners for the Westwood Bridge Club have been announced and the next session of play will take place at 7:30 p.m., on August 18. Last weeks winners include first place, Everyl Alkln and June Maxwell; 2nd place, Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Casselman; and 3rd place, Andrey Engle and Sid Kilshelmer.
