Mr. and Mrs. Alfred W. Carse, 9880 W. 10th Street, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary during an open house in the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Klitsch, 1944 MacArthur Lane, on Monday, July 27. Arriving by plane earlier In the day was another daughter, Alice Ellmaker of Portland, Oregon. Other family members arriving during the week included William Stainken of Smyrna, Ga., their grandson and Mrs. Ellmaker’s son; and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Sell of Somerville, N.J., brother-in-law and sister of Mrs. Carse. The anniversary couple will share the limelight with their grandson, Walter Klitsch, at an open house at the Klitsch

The Farmers reside in Charlotte, N.C., where Dr. Farmer Is an Internist at the Nalle Memorial Clinic.

Art Collection Closed In Aug. The Clowes Fund Collection of paintings by the Old Misters will close during the month of August for cleaning and staff vacations, according to Allen W. Clowes, president. The famed collection, which normally is open to the public on Thursday and Sunday afternoons between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 pan., spans five centuries and six schools of art. Represented are the Dutch, English, Flemish, Italian, French and Spanish schools, featuring works by such renowned artists as Frans Hals, Rembrandt, Rubens, Goya and El Greco. Located at Westerley, 3744 Spring Hollow Road, Golden Hill in Indianapolis, the collection will reopen Thursday, September 10.

Mrs. Shirley Lewis, Mrs. Judy Owen, Mrs. Patti Goodspeed and Mrs. Bruce Beatty served refreshments at the reception held immediately after the ceremony at the Westchester Village Club House. The bride is a graduate of Central Business College in Indianapolis and is now attending Indiana university • Purdue University at Indianapolis on a part-time basis. She is employed as a medical secretary. The groom is now stationed at Grissom Air Force Base after serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. He attended Point Park College, Pittsburgh, before his enlistment. After a short trip touring the East, the couple will reside in Speedway.
