Guild Picnic Honors Hospital Volunteers
Members of the Riley Hospital Cheer Guild marked the end of another year of service with their annual picnic lunch in Holiday House last week. Mrs. James Shorter, hospitality chairman, was in charge of arrangements for the affair. The members who had joined the Guild during the past year were guests of honor and were welcomed by Mrs. Charles D. Vawter, Guild President. Elton J. Ridley, Director of Hospitals at the Indiana University - Purdue University Medical Center in Indianapolis, presented Certificates of Award to Mrs. HJ2. Nicholson, Guild Vice President and Mfrs. Riley Hospital Cheer Guild Volunteers will continue their All City Bands To Perform The All City, Junior High School Band and Orchestra will give a performance at the Garfield Park Amphitheater, Sunday, July 12, 8 p.m. according to F. Arthur Strong, Recreation Superintendent. The concert, which is coordinated by W. Owen Beckley, Supervisor of Instrumental Music, Indianapolis Public School System, is open to the public at no admission charge, Strong said. It is sponsored by the Department of Parks and Recreation, he explained.
