Company has provided Interested residents with “piece work.” Those involved put together games and or do other busy work. They are paid for their services. Recently a group of old folks put together over 3,000 games. Bob Roland said of the community, “They are generally a happy bunch of people. We try our best to provide them with all the comforts of home and to treat them individually as useful people. Just because they are old doesn’t mean they can’t have flin,” he added. There should be no fear of
loneliness or lack of interesting activities by these old folks. They are still Independent, living the way they want to live and obviously enjoying it. One resident summed it up by saying, “This place is so much better than where I came from. I can live on my own here and do what I want to do. I don’t know how much time I’ve got, but I’m going to enjoy it here.”

Three Youths Arrested For Beatig, Robbery
Chief Robert Copeland of the Speedway Police Department has reported that on June 26th, 1970 Donald Calhoun of Indianapolis was severely beaten by two 16 year-old juveniles In Speedway. Chief Copeland reported that Calhoun was walking home from Speedway when he was jumped by the pair of juveniles. The youths hit Calhoun on the head with a base ball bat three or four times and then kicked him after he had fallen to the ground according to Copeland. Copeland also stated that the youths then robbed Calhoun of $3.00 and fled in a car driven by a 16 year-old girlfriend. The three youths were captured by Speedway Investigators Lt. Bill Crafton and Det. Sgt. William Bowen and the officers reported that the trio was turnPoisoning Six Steps To Remember In Case of Poisoning 1. Send for a doctor immediately. 2. Clark Appointment (Continued from page 4> Mrs. Clark’s husband is a Purchasing Engineering Co-or-dinator at Allison Division of General Motors. They have three children and four grandchildren. Their son, Charles M. Clark, Jr., M. D. is a Research and Education Associate at Veterans Administration Hospital and Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, at Indiana University Medical School. His wife, Julia F. Clark, Ph.D. is a Research Associate in the Department of Pharmacology and is Psl Ote. One daughter, Mrs. Pamela Clark Snyder, also a Psi Ote, is the mother of three and resides in Indianapolis with her husband, Richard L. Snyder. He is the manager of a retail store in the Glendale Shopping Center. Another daughter, Patricia Lynn, attends Speedway High School. She is active in music and dramatics Gamma Theta Chapter has been recognized many times at National Conventions for their philanthropic interests. The Speedway Chapter maintains free hospital equipment for local residents, music recordings at the library, and scholarships for speech and hearing students.
