Cassadays Celebrate 20th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Silver hosted a pool and cocktail party at their Speedway home last Wednesday, in honor ofthe 20th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cassaday. On hand for the start of a wonderful evening were (left to right) Mr. and Mrs. James Sarbinoff, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jessup, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cassaday, and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Silver. The party continued on to the Flaming Hearth Restaurant for dinner in the “Bob Cassaday Room” which is named in honor of Cassaday.

Miss Gltiiei Honored The James Whitcomb Riley Chapter of American Business Women’s Association recently awarded a scholarship to Miss Susie Glldden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Glldden of Speedway. Miss Glldden, a senior at Speedway High School, plans to attend Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. A First For The Webers Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Weber, 5603 Cannon Court, became the proud parents of a baby girl, Nicole Ann Weber, on June 6, at 6 p.m. Nicole, the first child in the Weber household, was born at Coleman Hospital weighing in at 7 lbs. 2 oz. Mrs. Weber was a first grade teacher at the Wheeler School. 500’ Barracks To Hold Meeting The Speedway ”500” Barracks No. 3412 Veterans of World War One, will hold their regular meeting on Thursday, July 2. All visiting Buddies are welcome to attend the meeting which will be held in the Hall of the Speedway Post No. 500, American Legion, at 1926 Georgetown Road.

Neal-Wood ward Vows Read
Miss Donna Jean Woodward and Vernon Bailey Neal exchanged wedding vows during a 7:30 p.m. ceremony held in the Speedway Christian Church on Saturday, June 20. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Woodward, 1764 N. Norfolk, Speedway, and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn R. Neal of Barrington, Illinois. The bride is a graduate of Vincennes University. Her husband graduated from Dickinson State College, Dickinson, N. D. con lace. The front of the gown was accented with large motifs of Alencon lace. The detachable train was edged in Alecon lace and the bridal headpiece of soft satin petals secured a 3 tiered Illusion veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses centered with a purple orchid. The bridal attendants wore full length gowns of orchid chiffon over taffeta. The scooped neckline and short sleeves were edged in lace. Soft bows accented the bodice at the front. For their headpieces the bride selected large garden hats and the girls carried orchid and white mums. The Junior bridesmaid and flower girl were dressed in full length orchid shantung gowns. They wore daisy streamers. The junior bridesmaid carried a nosegay of white and orchid mums and roses. The flower girl carried a white basket of the same flowers. Mrs. Marilyn Cord served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids, Junior bridesmaid, and flower girl were Mrs. Diane Osborne, Mrs. Jean Mllharclc, Miss Ruth Bart, Miss Sandy Cord, and Miss Sherri Cord.
