Farewell Reception Set The entire West Side and Speedway Community is invited to attend a “Farewell Reception” in honor of Pastor and Mrs. John Chell and their family on Sunday, June 7, from 3 to 5 p.m., in the Nave of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 5700 Crawfordsville Road. Pastor Chell has served at St. Andrew’s, located in the Speedway Shopping Center, since January of 1965. pastor Chell has recently been appointed Pastor in a Team Ministry at House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Chells will take up their new post in mid June. Pastor Chell has been a member of the Speedway Area Ministerial Association and served one term as President. He has been a recent member of the Board of Directors of the Church Federation of Greater Indianapolis. Among numerous other Boards and committees in which he has served, he is apastPresident of the Executive Board for the newly* formed Greater Indianapolis Lutheran Parish, a cooperative ministry of 12 Lutheran Churches in the Metropolitan Area. Locally, he was a member of the Speedway Lions Club and the “500“ Optimist Club. Magic Carpet Reading Club The Magic Carpet Reading Club begins on Monday, June 15, 1970 and rims for nine weeks—until August 14, 1970. Those students who register for the Club and complete the reading of 15 books during the summer will be issued a diploma during the week of August 10-14. There is no charge for registration. Books which count in the Club must be: a. On student’s own reading level, b. Not previously read by the student, c. From the collection in the Senior High School Library, d. 12, 1920, in Zionsville, Indiana. Lohman retired in 1966 after 22 years as co-owner of Capitol Electric Service. Lohman’s have one daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Strout of Speedway; a son, Robert F. Lohman of Indianapolis; and seven grandchildren.
