Indianapolis Reading Clinic Summer Program 1970 Registration for Summer Classes will begin the week of May 18th. The first session is scheduled from June 8 through July 9, the second session from July 13 through August 13 Class size is limited. All students are tested, with progress testing at the end of the course. The instruction is based upon the individual needs of the student. The fee is $150.00 for each class, with $25.00 registration charged to cover cost of initial testing. All texts and material are provided. CLASS I READING MHO YEMENI This is a developmental reading course for those students with minor problems. The course is designed to “polish” reading skills, improve speed and vocabulary, and to strenghten comprehension of material read. For Elementary and Junior High Students. 5 weeks, Monday through Thursday. Time: 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. CUSS II REMEDIAL READING Designed for the young school age child. Training is offered in improvement of visual perception, reading fluency, sight vocabulary, and basic phonetic skills. Class size is limited to ten. The 14th edition of the “500” Festival memorial parade is expected to draw thousands of spectators to downtown Indianapolis Thursday night, but police Maj. George Pollard, head of the traffic division, thinks traffic problems can be eased if parade fans will follow police directions to open parking areas. “This can either be a big headache for paradegoers or it can be quite simple.** Pollard said as be outlined the duties of the 320 city policemen who have been assigned to the parade detail. “Most of the downtown parking lots and garages have al-

Kirkwood Jr., chairman of the parade, said 325,000 saw the parade last year and predicted 100,000 more will come downtown tomorrow to view the 34 bends, 26 floats and more than a dozen celebrities. Officer Forrest (Joe) Rupe of the Speedway Police Department has completed an Instructors course In First Aid. This was a 30-hour course of instruction. The school was held at the Red Cross, 441 East 10th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Officer Joe Rupe will be giving Instructions in First Aid at the Speedway Police Station in the future. It is the policy of this Department for all officers to have advanced First Aid. In the first five months of this year, the Department has made 82 First Aid and Oxygen runs;
