May 31 Baccalaureate in the auditorium, 8:00 PJVf. June 1 Commencement exercises in the gymnasium, 8:00 P.M. June 4 Last day at school for elementary pupils June 5 Junior and senior high school students finish pyamc at noon June 5 Eighth grade graduation at 2:15 P.M. June 6 Report cards issued to elementary pupils - 10:00 A.M. The year end schedule will be similar to that at receid years for all pupils in Speedway Schools. Under this schedule elementary pupils will attend school through Thursday, June 4, will be out of school all day on Friday, June 5, and will return only long enough to receive their report cards at 10:00 AJM. on Saturday, June 6. Junior high school students will attend classes and examination schedules through Thursday, June 4 and will be dismissed at that time. Report cards will be mailed to them. Eighth grade students will return to the junior high at 2:15 P.M., Friday, June 5 to receive their diplomas. David Wall Baird Washburn Denise Wilson Steve Wilson Holly Young The following awards were presented to members at the girls* swim team last week at the Girls* Athletic Association Awards Banquet: Most Valuable Swimmer, Terri Kottarktts; Most Improved Swimmer,Janie Kellam, Debbie Meyer, and Charlotte VanHise, High Point Award, Terri Kottaridis. Speedway won its first tennis tournament championship last week at the Mid-State Invitational. Final scores were Speedway 49, Moore sville 46, Danville 40, and Greenwood 32. Team members were co-cap-tains Jim Barger and Dave Vogel, Mike Feaster, Don Niccum, and Dave Parker. Mr. Jim Simons is tennis coach. Other tennis scores last week were: Speedway reserves 4, Danville 3; Danville freshmen 4, Speedway 3. In baseball games played last week, scores were: Speedway varsity 9, Moore sville 2 Zion sville varsity 7, Speedway 6 Southport varsity 12, Speedway 0 Franklin Central reserves 2, Speedway 0 Speedway freshmen 10, Brebeuf 4 Ben Davis freshmen 6, Speedway 1.
