You will surely see JOHNNY LIGHTNING come Race Day. The Gasoline Alley guys sure send their thanks to the butchers who fed them the delicious steaks last Tuesday. Just one more example of why the Speedway is a great place in May. One of the favorite pastimes of drivers, mechanics and track personnel is to stand at FIRESTONE & GOODYEAR and watch the girls go by - mini skirt type, that is. This year their eyes are really popping. SPRITE’S hospitality room takes .the award for the wildest decorated room. Green plaid rug, blue and yellow walls and a beautiful bar. It is great to see someone like Rookie DICK SIMON holding hands with his lovely wife, MARY ANN, walking by Gasoline Alley. Seen visiting in Gasoline Alley JIGGER SIROIS, who missed sitting on the pole last year by the wave of a yellow flag. Congratulations to the City of Speedway for its paving of Lyndhurst north of Road 136 and the striping of all the important streets. The homes and yards of Speedway (continued to column 4)

How do American companies get their employes to come up with cost-saving suggestions? The inducement is cold cash at the Allison Division of General Motors. The ONLY way to thoroughly CLEAN a CARPET! We use STEAMTRONIC equipment
THIS PROCESS DEEP CLEANS:’ * Uses steaming hot water with a cleaning additive, plus a powerful vacuum for complete extraction. * Will not harm or shrink even the most delicate carpet. * Completely extracts grit, dirt, soil and the soaps and detergents left from previous cleanings with the old conventional methods. * Makes the other methods obsolete; You can actually SEE the extraction of all the dirt, germs and damage causing grit removed from your carpeting. * Prolongs the life of carpeting, because not only the surface is cleaned, but this method cleans all the way to the base of the carpet. * One cleaning lasts twice as long as the conventional methods, so in the long run this process is more economical. * Crying time is from 2to 4 hours, depending on the type of carpet.
