To enroll in kindergarten this fall a child must be five years old by October 1.
Registration slips for kindergarten children will be sent home with all elementary and high school pupils on Tuesday, May 6. These forms should be completed and returned to one of the elementary schools. Parents who do not receive a slip may call one of the elementary schools and report the information about a child who is eligible to enroll. Speedway junior Bob Harbin won the Original Oratory Division of the National Forensic League State Contest held last Saturday at North Central. Bob now qualifies to compete in the national contest to be held in Washington, D.C. in June. Spedway’s eighth grade track team has won four meets this spring and the seventh grade team has won one meet and lost one. Scores were: Speedway Bth grade 64, Decatur 18 Speedway Bth grade 60, Franklin Central 31 Speedway Bth grade 77, Plainfield 14 Speedway Bth grade 77, Browns. burg 14 Speedway 7th grade 45 3/5, Brownsburg 45 2/5 Decatur 7th grade 65, Speedway 17 Spedway High School track scores for the past week were: Brebeuf 63%, Cathedral 55%, Brownsburg 43, Speedway 42 North west 71, Speedway 47 Pike 59, Speedway 59 Tennis match results during the past week include: Varsity Speedway 5%, Mooresville 1% Speedway 5, Warren Central 2 Speedway 6, Greenwood 1 Bn Davis 5, Speedway 2 Reserve Mooresville 5, Speedway 3 Speedway 5, Warren Central 2 In baseball, Speedway varsity team won three games last week by the following scores: scores: Speedway 8, Decatur Central 1 Speedway 7, Franklin Central 4 Speedway 8, Northwest 3 Other baseball scores were: Northwest reserves 13, Speedway 4 Speedway freshmen 4, Manual 2 Golf results for the past week include: North Central 213, Southport 217, Speedway 218 Ben Davis 4, Speedway 7 Decatur Central 1, Speedway 11

Krannert YJM.C.A. Girls Swim Krannert YMCA swim team girls attend the 3rd national YMCA swimming and diving championship meet April 24, 25 and 26th held in Green Bay Wisconsin. Six girls from Krannert swim team competed in this meet the girls were, Mari Medenwald, Linda Ludlow, Brenda Snapp, Tina Garrett, Sue Medenwald, Judy Garrett. The girls 400 Medly Relay (Linda Ludlow, Mari Medenwald, Brenda Snapp, Tina Garrett) placed 3rd, Mari Medenwald placed 2nd in the 200 yd. individual medley, sth in the 200 butterfly, Bth in the 100 fly, Linda Ludlow placed 7th in the 200 back and Brenda placed 7th in the 100 breast. There were 150 YMCA girls taking part in this meet. The girls were accompanied by Mrs. Thelma Snapp, Mrs. William Garrett and their coach Mr. Bill Despres. Krannet placed 9 in overall points.

Indiana Legal Forum were guests of the AFNB Trust Department. Following the dinner, the AFNB Merit Awards for outstanding contributions to the Law Journal during the current school year were presented to the following students: David V. Miller and Charles Thompson, Editors-in-Chief; E. Davis Coots, John Van Winkle, Robert Lehman, Randolph Foxworthy, and Aaron Jade: Board of Editors; Kathleen Schmoyer and Carmel Alderson, Best Writing by a Candidate; Charles Thompson and Jon Krahulik, Excellent Writing by Editors of Staff Members.
