PACK 566 NEWS “Indians” attended the March 20 meeting in the form of Cubs, some with painted faces, some with costumes or headbands and feathers or other regalia. Den 9 gave a reume of the American Indian History for the opening and Den 1 presented an Indian skit about “rain dancing”. The boys in the 3 Dens did an Indian dance step to a tom-tom beat. The Webelos had a game of “O’Grady Says”. New Cubs and their families were welcomed into the Pack: Greg Ramsey, Kerry Wagoner and Mike Easter (Mason). Attendance awards went to Keith Denton, Jack Ramsey, Bruce Borgman. Ted Pierce received the recruiter badge. Paul
Fulton received the Bear rank. Tony Baker and Phil Thompson were advanced to the Webelos Den. Brent Quebbeman received the Naturalist award; Doug Corrington, athlete, aquanaut and sportsman; and Chuck West, traveler. Steve Hill received his Arrow of Light award and was welcomed into the Boy Scout Troop by assistant Scoutmaster, Bob White.
The 69-70 Pack Committee was introduced: Bob Mason, Cubmaster; Jim Hill; Ass’t Cubmaster; Harry Pesel, Pack Chairman; Ed West, Webelos leader with Ralph Potter and Tom Hott as assistant leaders; Edlwood Stecker, activities chairman; Jim Ray, membership; Dick Frey, advancements; James Ferguson, treasurer; William Huffman, placque maker. Boys in the Allison School area may join by calling, 241-9944. “Fit for America” will be the 566 pack theme for the Scout Fair scheduled for April 18, 19, and 20. The meeting was closed with Den 3 jiving an Indian prayer in English and sign language.
