Rev. Paul Friederichsen, Missionary to the Philippines for ten years, a prisoner of the Japanese during the war, will present his unique program at the NORTHWEST BAPTIST CHURCH, December Bth thru the 11th. (Sunday thru Wednesday.) Services will be at 7:00 pan. each evening. Rev Friederichsen will also speak at the 10:45 a.m. service on Sunday. sent the Missionary Work in a number of fields. Interesting curios will also be on display. After nearly ten years as a Minister of the Gospel here in America, Rev. Friederichsen accepted the challenge of the Mission field. He went with his family to the Philippine Islands in 1939 under the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism. There, after language study and orientation, he directed the Doane Evangelistic Institute in the large city of Iloilo. He trained Filipino pastors and evangelists, and also conducted a number of intensive and extended Evangelistic tent campaigns. Two Evangelistic trips were made to the primitive, pegan mountain people of Panay Island to bring the Gospel to those who had never heard. The outbreak of the war resulted in he and his family being imprisoned for 31 months. It is a story all should hear! Rev. Paul Friederichsen is now the Midwester Represetative for the Association of Baptists for World Evanglism (ABWE). Pastor Larry Newas and the members of the NORTHWEST BAPTIST CHURCH join in extending an invitation to share in these unusual Missionary Services, December Bth. thru the 11th. The church is located on High School Road at 35th Street.

Flameproofing Formulas BORAX-BORIC ACID FORMULAS: Borax . 7 oz. Boric Acid ......3 oz. Hot Water J qts. Directions: Wash to remove sizing, dip and agitate in the solution, wring and dry. This flameproofing treatment is easily applied; the materials can be obtained at any drug store; and, it is one of the most effective formulas. It is, therefore, recommended for home use. The solution may be sprayed on the fabric, if it is not convenient to dip the materials; however, the cloth must be retreated after washing. FIRE RESISTANT TREATMENT FOR CHISTMAS TREES: Ammonium Sulphate (fertilizer grade) 1 teacupful for each pint of water. Water 1 pint for each 2 pounds of tree. Directions: Make fresh cut across trunk of tree so that chemical will contact fresh wood. Weigh tree and use 1 pint of water for each 2 pounds of tree. Make a solution by dissolving one teacupful of ammonium sulphate for each pint of water used. Put solution in pail, set tree in upright position in solution, and ■ place in a cool place for five days. The degree of fire resistance depends upon the amount of solution absorbed. Freshly cut trees will absorb the solution most readily. Fertilizer grade ammonium sulphate can be obtaied at most seed, hardware or farmers’ supply stores and costs about three cents per pound. FIRE RESISTANT TREATMENT FOR DRY PLANT DECORATIONS: Ammonium Sulphate (fertilizer grade) 2% pounds Water 1 gallon The above ' solution when sprayed on Spanish moss, com stalks, dry leaves and other decorative materials of plant origin will render such materials fire resistive.
