Cub Pack 566 Cub Pack 566 met at Allison School on October 16. A “witch” greeted everyone at the door, distributing “creepy Crawlers” to Cubs and parents as they entered the gym which was decorated with cats, pumpkins and owls which the cubs had made. explained how Halloween originated. Six new boys and their parents were welcomed into the pack. Den 3 presented a Halloween skit about tricks and treats, goblins, ghosts and witches. A group participation stunt was led by the “Witch.” The Cubmaster announced that the boys would be delivering Goodwill bags on October 19 and would pick them up on October 26.

the camp. Many of the boys earned one or more Merit Badges and a gratifying number achieved Camper and Woodman ranks. Four boys, Phil White, John Thompson Bill Pesel and Walt Kilitsch earned the right to join the Firecrafter circle and were inducted into the Firecrafter organization on August 24. Top achievement for the year in Troop 66 was six advancements to Eagle,the highest rank in scouting. Our congratulations and best wishes to Neil Behrle, 5913 Nash Lane, Dennis Blind, 2142 Cord, Bert Hamilton, 2133 Fisher, Bill Pesel, 2109 Fisher, Jeff Thompson, 2148 Cord and John Thompson, 5821 W. 30th St. These boys will receive the actual award
at the Eagle Court of Honor on October 27, 1968. Troop 66 invites all Speedway boys interested in Scouting to “come look us over”. Troop meetings are held on Monday night at the Scout House on Mickley Avenue. Boys, or parents, wishing information about the troop are invited to call the Scoutmaster, R. W. New Scouts for Pock 66 Thirteen new Cub Scouts have joned Pack 66. sponsored by the Speedway Parent-Teachers’ Association, during the first part of the 1968 Fall Roundup. The membership campaign taking place in the Central Indiana Council, Boy Scouts of America, began September 16 and will be concluded December 13. Boys who are 8,9, and 10 years old are invited to join Cub Scouts or Webelos Scouts during this annual Fall Roundup. The new Cub Scouts were invested into Scouting October 17, at the monthly pack meting according to B. G. Allison Cubmaster. They are Mark Baldwin, Jimmy Brackett, Greg Brueggemann, Mike Campbell, Mike Chapman, Jeff Hedges, Steve Hedges, Steve Jackman, Bryan Patterson, Jay Thomas, Tommy Thorpe, Joe Wilson, and Bryan Woodward. Four boys also transferred into the pack: Chris Preston and Richard VanHise from Pack 500, Mark Bruner and Tommy Bruner from Pack 566.
