High School Courses For Veterans The George Washington Evening School has been selected as an approved school to assist in the Veterans’ Pension and Readjustment Assistance Act of 1967. Mr. Cloyd J. Julian, Principal of George Washington High School announced today. The new law provides educational benefits to Veterans of the Viet-Nam Era which is defined as the period beginning August 5, 1964, and ending on a date to be determined by the President or Congress. A veteran needing to complete high school may attend evening school, receive high school credit and a monetary reimbursement for attendance. A single veteran attending evening school four evenings per week would receive $60.00 per month. Married veterans would receive an additional amount. High School attendance, for non graduates, does not reduce basic entitlement for veterans planning to attend college. Veterans may call the Veterans Administration or George Washington Evening School 637-3558 for further information.
