KRANNERT LEARN TO - SWIM PROGRAM Boys and girls in grades am through six are encouraged to take advantage of the Krannert Y*s “Learn-To-Swim” program. “The highest percentage of summer drownings is in this age group” said Mr. Stands, Executive Director of Krannert “Lakes, rivers, and streams are natural attractions to youngsters,” he stated, “and even basic instruction in swimming can make the difference in avoiding a family tragedy.” In the past four years, more than 1200 community youth have participated in the Y*s community service swim program. This years campaign will begin June 10th and run for (2) one week sessions. Cost will be three dol-

The Annual Bean Dinner of the Christian Men’s Fellowship will be held next Monday, May 27, at 6:30 pan., in Fellowship Hall The program will include film of the 1967 500 Mile Race, and music by the Speedway High School Sparkleaires. If you have not been contacted by the CMF ticket sellers, you may call the church office for reservations, by Thursday, May 23rd. There will be no sewing at the Dotlich Farm on Wednesday, May 29th, for the Fall Festival; however, plan to come Tuesday and Wednesday, June 4th and sth, if possible. Father. Leo Lindemann will take part in the 500-Festival Memorial Service, to be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at the World War Memorial Plaza, Indianapolis. He will give the invocation. There will be no classes at St Christopher school next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, May 29, 31, and 31, because to the 500Race. The eighth grade graduation breakfast will be held Monday, June 3rd, in the school dining room, immediately following the 8 o’clock Mass. On Tuesday, June 4th, the eighth grade picnic will be held at McCormick’s Creek State Park. Al Such, an Bth grader in St. Christorpher school, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Such, 1601 Crest Court, was chosen by his classmates as the outstanding altar boy from St Christopher Church. He was one of more than 700 altar boys from the city’s Catholic parishes to be honored in a ceremony Thursday night May 16, at 7:30 p.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral, Indianapolis. Archbishop Paul C. Schulte presented medals to the boys. The ceremony was sponsored by the Serra Club of Indianapolis. Al plans to enter the Latin School in September. At the recent St Christopher Board of Education election Mr. Robert Bailey and Mr. Richard Zeph were elected to serve three year terms. They had been serving only one year terms. The other Board members will finish out their two and three year terms. They are Donald Arens, John Bertrang, John Grande, Ralph F. Holland, James Jenks, David Knott Jim Miller, and Frank Munshower, They will hold an election of officers at the June meeting. Term of the officers elected November 13, 1967 expires May 31, 1968. At the Thursday night May 16th, meeting of the PTO, ParentTeacher Organization, of St Christopher school the following officers were elected: Judy Dezelan, president; Helen Emley, vice-president; Pat Thomas, secretary; and, John Sneyd, treasurer. Installation of these officers will be early in September. The Holy Name Society elected the following officers at their meeting last Sunday: Ed Pendergast president; Gene Villinski, vicepresident; Donald Schmaltz, secretary; and, Howard Schirtzing, treasurer. These men will be installed next month at the June meeting of the Society. In the absence of Father Lindemann, his Mass schedule could not be obtained before we went to press Monday.
