KRANNERT Y.M.C.A. OPENS MEMBERSHIP Krannert YMCA announced this week it has opened its membership to an additional 100 families. Jack L. Stands, executive director, said that membership applications are being accepted now at Krannert, 605 South High School Road. He said that prospective new members who would like to visit the Y for a day can obtain guest passes for the entire family to use the facilities by calling 241-9313. Literature is available outlining all activities as well as such membership details as financing through local banks or with Midwest Charge Cards. Campbell said that starting with the second year of membership on the basis of current annual dues, an entire family can make use of all facilities the year around for approximiately $1 a week.

The event is sponsored by the Education Committee and includes recreation, finger lunch miniature smorgasbord and family worship. FATHER & SON BANQUET: The Second Annual Athletic Banquet for Fathers and Sons will be held here at the Church, Friday, May 10th at 6 P.M. Speedway Associate Tri Kappa News Members of the Spedway Associate Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa met for dinner in the Holiday Inn Northwest, at 6:30 o’ clock on the evening of April 22. After the dinner, they went to the home of Mrs. Walter Freund, 5130 W. 14th St., where a business meeting was held. The chapter is sending a child to the camp for mentally retarded children, in Bradford Woods. Delicious refreshments were served by the committee, consisting of Mrs. Freund, Mrs. C. W. Mitchell and Mrs. Fred Rankin. Mrs. Bill Cook will be the delegate to the Province 11 Convention, which will be Saturday, May 4, in Schwitzer Hall at Indiana Central College. Also attending will be: Mrs. Earl Chadwick, Mrs. Charles Eversole, Mrs. Walter Freund, Mrs. John Graub, Mrs. Rose Kendall, Mrs. Vernon McNaughton and Mrs. Fted Rankin.

Washington High Alumni Dance The 19th annual George Washington High School Alumni Dance will be held at 9 p.m. Saturday (May 4) in the Riverside Auditorium in Riverside Amusement Park. All former Continentals now residing in the Speedway area are invited to attend. Music for the dance will be provided by the orchestra of Nick Craig, a 1939 Washington graduate. Members of the school’s graduating class of 1943 will specially honored. Tickets will be available at the door at $2.50 per person.

ART CONTEST The International Art Program sponsored jointly by the American Red Cross and the National Art Education Association, will display the local winning art works of junior and high school students from May Ist through May 11th in the windows of the’ merchants in Eastgate, Southern Plaza, Glendale and Speedway Shopping Centers.
