librarian. She told me it was a card catalogue. Then she told me why the library had it and she showed me how to look for a book title in it and how to understand the other information it supplied. The librarian was always smiling and was ready to help. One thing, which is an important job for the librarian, is to keep the books in order. I realize

it is hard to do this but when you have to chase a non-fiction book out of the fiction section, it just takes time. Whenever our school librarian is absent a week, 1 has to keep his fingers crossed, hoping he won’t have to run all over the library in order to find a certain book. Whenever I go to a library, I can always expect to find a quiet environment in which I am able to study. The library is such a great place to study, because of its atmosphere, the large, spacious tables, and the many encyclopedias, atlases, globes, dictionaries, and other tools that are provided there. Most libraries send out a card if they have a book that was requested, or if a book is overdue. I think this is very considerate on behalf of the librarian and the person with the book. At least you know the library isn’t just trying to get more money. In conclusion, what I expect from my library is merely what I have received: the advantage of a quiet place in which I may study in order to receive the knowledge offered me through any book I choose to read.

15, at 7:30 PJL at the Junior High School. We will be expecting to see all Cub Scouts and their families attend this fun affair. An impressive closing in keeping with the theme of this month was given by the Webelos Den. A WORD TO THE LOVELY LADY... Ah ... such fascinating beauty the coming of Spring displays ... the" awakening blossoms . . . the barren trees adorning their foliage . . . patcvhes of greenery springing forth everywhere, but, in order to obtain all this beauty, many spring showers must be part of the program! With all this rain, the dampness is overwhelming, and, either very straight hair or very fuzzy hair is quite annoyingly unattractive! What to do to alleviate this condition without wanting to pull your hair completely out To begin with, the condition of your hair is very important . . . healthy hair is easier to control. If your hair is fine, a very good Body Wave containing a conditioner is a major help, phis, eliminating the use of cream rinses, which only make the hair soft and more apt to fuzz in damp circumstances. Strong, healthy hair should have a silky feeling, not a soft lifeless texture. If your hair is course and heavy, your problem is not quite as difficult to cope with. The proper shaping is the key for control, and, if there is a slight wave pattern naturally, there is no need for a permanent wave, otherwise, good Body Wave should be part of the program. If your hair is being Tinted or Bleached, an extensive conditioning program should be part of your weekly hair care. In some cases, a Body Wave may be advised by your professional hairdresser, but do not take it upon yourself to determine which treatment to use. You may cause

such drastic distraction by an im- - proper treatment it could take months to rejuvenate those sad tresses! I realize that there are so many conditioners on the market that making a decision is very confusing, therefore, some professional advice is a necessity. Another little hint which I have mentioned before in some of my articles, is the proper use of hair spray . . . which can be the cause of a complete downfall of that fabulous coiffure whila this damp weather prevails. Be certain that the spray is completely dry before stepping out into the moist air. Hair spray, when still somewhat wet draws more moisture into the hair rauging it to come down instead of stay in! The use of a hair dryer after spraying is a safety measure to contain this possible catastrophe. I certainly hope my advise will help you to cope with the Spring Showers . . . and continue to be a LOVELY LADY . *. Sincerely, Claudia NOTICE To Residents of Auburn Street U.S. 136 to 22nd STREET Due to the great increase of traffic and pedestrians for the 500 Mile Race, and to aid the complicated traffic pattern necessary to control such traffic,, the Speedway Police Department finds it necessary to make Auburn Street one-way South only, from 22nd Street to U.S. 136. This will only only be in affect a short time on Race Day. The time involved will be from 5:00 a.m, May 30th, until noon, May 30th, 1968. Also, parking will be permitted only on the west side of the street during this time period. M. D. ELLIS MARSHALL Town of Speedway
