Students competing in the German section are Donald Muir and Cherri Phillabaum, and those students in the Spanish section are William Haynes and Charlene Saxton. Junior Barry Crawford should be added to the high school “B” honor roll for the third grading period which was printed in last week’s Flyer. It is very much appreciated. Members of the Holy Name Society will receive corporate Holy Communion at the 8 o’clock Mass on Sunday, March 10. Breakfast, meeting and program will follow at the Speedway Motet The meeting will honor the past presidents. Guest speaker will be Mr. Anthony S. Kuharich, State Commissioner of Correction. His topic will be “A Look Inside Indiana Prisons.” Because of the interest and importance of this meeting and program, the members are inviting their wives to attend. The Indianapolis Chancery have advised that adults should not eat meat on Fridays during Lent. Children under 14 may eat meat on all Fridays, except on Good Friday. The Lenten Apron, a type of Lenten sacrifice among the women of the parish for many years, will be continued this year. News was received this week from Father Paul Richart from the Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, where he is stationed for six weeks of training. He expected to return to the McCord Air Force Base, his original base, the middle of March. He was well and happy, but very busy. He asked to be remembered to all his friends. At 8:00 o’clock on Monday morning, the Mass was said for John H. Burkhard at the request of Mayme and Alice Foy. The 5:30 pan. Mass was said for Mrs. Ruth Lang at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hahn Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ledwith asked that the 8:00 a.m. Tuesday Mass remember Jennie Brune. Frank Roderick asked that Mary King be remembered at 5:30 p.m. Florence Fay was remembered in the morning Mass on Wednesday at the request of the Leland Manning family, and Robert Zeph was remembered in the afternoon Mass at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Frigge. This morning the Mass was said for Vanard Sherman. Rose and Mary Sherman requested the Mass. An Anniversary Mass will be said at 5:30 p.m. by Father Kessler for Lawrence Myers. Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Schmalz made the request. At 8:00 a.m. Friday, the Mass will be said for Kate Lindemann at the request of Edward Lindemann. At 5:30 pan., the Mass will be for Mary Wilson at the request of Louis and Mary Wiele. On Saturday morning at 11:30, Father Lindemann will say the Mass for the deceased members of the Wolfla and Collins families at the request of the Carl Wolfla family. The 5:30 Mass will be for Kay Ann Walter at the request of the George Gaithe family. David L. Noblet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Basil Noblet, was nailed to the Dean’s List at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. David is a Cathedral High School graduate and St. Christopher school.
