APPOINTMENTS TO "ON LOT DIVISION" ANNOUNCED BY FALENDER HOMES

The appointment of Richard Hill to the fast-growing “On Lot Division” of Falender Homes Corporation/Indiana was announced today by Jerry Clark, Marketing Director for Falender. Clark stated that Hill will be stationed at the company’s Northbrook community, 8100 North Ditch Road. Milt Alter, who is Northbrook sales manager for Falender will supervise On-Lot Sales. Additional information about “On Lot” may be obtained by phoning 2531491. Falender offers a choice of 59 personalized exterior designs and 22 floorplans to be built on the buyer’s on lot in Marion County or adjacent counties. Basements are available.

Falender can assist the buyer in obtaining all types of conventional loans. Many purchasers already owning lots may qualify for loans without a down payment The buyer may also take advantage of Falender’s risk-free tradein plan. It can be completed within two weeks giving the Falender home buyer full current market value for his present home. Homes available for on-lot construction range from three to five bedrooms, some arranged in such a way that one bedroom may be converted into a den or sewing room if the buyer desires. The home buyer may choose a brick or stone exterior trimmed with wood and aluminum in a variety of popular styles. Many homes have front doors that are recessed under covered porches. Other popular features available from Falender are: brick or stone fireplaces with hearths and mantles: built-in shelves and housewife’s desks; paneled walls and sliding glass doors to concrete patio stoops- Patios may also be completed if the buyer desires. All Falender homes incorporate basic construction features not usually found in the price range. Ten-inch concrete beams and smaller floor joists are used to minimize floor shrinkage. A vapor barrier minimizes moisture within floors. Also included are heavygauge aluminum gutters and downspouts, long warranty roofs, window screens, full insulation, ea s y-reach utility connections and silent switches. Furnished models of some of the homes which are available for on-lot construction are being shown at Tempo, East 16th and Franklin Road; Meadowood, 3000 North High School Road and Northbrook, 8100 North Ditch. Models in all Falender communities are open from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTION Indiana State Police Superintendent Robert A. O’Neal and the State Police Board have assigned twenty-two officers of the Department to the primary duty of motor vehicle inspection. These men, with the rank of sergeant, will fulfill the obligation placed upon the Department by the Legislature. The Indiana Legislature last year enacted a compulsory motor vehicle inspection law and created a Department of Vehicle Inspection. The State Police will investigate the capabilities and reputations of garages and mechanics mkaing application for official inspection stations. After these stations become operative, the State Police will investigate any complaints and protect automobile owners from unscrupulous practices of individual station operators.
