demonstration day program A total of 350 students from 16 schools in Marion county will be among 1,683 students from 122 Hoosier schools in 58 countries who will attend one of two Demonstration Day programs to be held at the Indiana University Medical Center on April 20 and 27, according to Howard B. Morris, Medical Center coordinator for continuing education and special programs. This is the seventh year for the event, conceived as a public service by the Medical Center in 1962. The single session held that year increased to three and four meetings in succeeding years. Conflicts inthe calendar this year limited the conference to only the two sessions, which will tax the Medcal Center facilities, Mr. Morris said. All Indiana secondary schools are invited to send interested junior and senior students to the program, which is planned to demonstrate opportunities in careers as physicians, dentists, nurses, or any of the allied health sciences. By setting aside these special days it is possible to show in depth the activities involved in this kind of education, the scientific work in progress, the background required, and the future the student can reasonably expect in these professions. Last year 1,224 students from 108 high schools in 58 countries made reservations to attend one of three programs. Reservations for participation in Demonstration Days are made with the University Relations office at the Medical Center through the various high school principals and guidance counsellors. Attending from Speedway will be Dalton H. Wicker, Speedway High School.

some adventure, but sparkled with humorous narration and musical accompaniment, is one of the most unusual films ever made. It is an adventure-packed, floating journey 1800 miles down the Amazon River. Two “gullible travelers”, built their own open air raft, powered it with their motor scooters, and said off on a Spectacular 7 months’ trip from Pucallpa to Iquitos, Peru. Here is a thrill-packed journey taking us for miles of jungle life with its rich growth . . . strange animals ... ocelot, monkeys, anteaters . . . beautiful birds *. . . curious natives . .. thatched huts . . . Indian villages . . .narrow escapes. Then we will experience a fight with a boa constrictor. This group lived on the deadly, maneating Piranha fish, ate food from the savage headhunting tribes of Yagua Indians. They survived flash floods that nearly swamped the raft and water logged the cameras. Thurau played Tarzan on jungle vines. This is all accompanied by Rudi’s guitar. This is a thrilling story of what every man would like to dw— and every woman admires in manhood’s possibilities.
