NEW TRAFFIC LAW Indiana State Police Superintendent Robert A. O’Neal today issued a reminder that on January 1, 1968, a new traffic law affecting the operation of slow moving vehicles will become effective. The law, which will apply only to vehicles which do not, under ordinary circumstances, travel on the highways in excess of 25 miles per hour, requires the display of a triangular slow moving vehicle emblem visible from the rear. The emblem must be mounted as near as is practicable to the center of the rear of the

vehicle at an approximate height of from 3 to 5 feet from the ground. In addition to the slow moving Vehicle emblem, all vehicles which do not ordinarily travel in excess of 25 miles per hour must display a red or amber flashing light showing to the rear when using the highways at night. This flashing light is to be mounted as low as practicable but not higher than 8 feet from ground level. Double-faced flashing lamps are permissable provided they display only amber to the front. Standards and specifications for the design, materials and mounting of the slow moving vehicle emblem are to be published
