She is a native of Indianapolis, having graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. She also attended Indiana University and Butler University majoring in the fields of Journalism and Recreation. His duties as program coordinator at the Union Building will consist primarily of developing a social, cultural and recreational program through the Student Union Board for the students of Indiana University in Indianapo-
lis. Mrs. Zapp has been active in camping for many years with the Catholic Youth Organization as a Camp Director for the Girl’s Camping Program in Brown County. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of C.Y.O. for 12 years. She has also been active in the Indianapolis Girl Scout Program as an advisor in First Aid and as a Scout Leader. In September, 1967, she was awarded a twenty-five year pin for continuous service to the Indianapolis Chapter of the American Red Cross where she is a member of the First Aid Advisory Committee.
Mrs. Zapp has been very active in Indianapolis drama groups. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of Footlite Musicals and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Junior Civic Theatre. She has also acted in productions of the Footlite Musicals, Civic Theatre, and the Morris Street Players. Mrs. Zapp is a cofounder of the Prologue Players which is a theatrical group designed to provide young people with the opportunity of summer stock experience in adult plays; she is producer and chairman of the Board of Directors of this group. Prior to her appointment at the I.U. Medical Center, Mrs. Zapp was residence Director of the School of Nursing at the Marion County General Hospital. Before that, she was the Recreation Director at St Vincent’s School of Nursing.

Real Estate Tax Stamps The expiration Jan. 1 of the federal law requiring tax stamps on real estate transactions will bring to an end more than a century of selling documentary stamps by the Post Office Department and the Internal Revenue Service. First issued in 1862 to help raise revenue for the Civil War, documentary stamps were abolished in two steps by the Excise Jan. 1, 1966, the tax was eliminated for capital stock certificates, and on Jan. 1, 1967, the tax of 55 cents per SSOO onrealty transfers will be removed.
