day and Sunday afternoons, December 2 and 3. Major portion of the funds for the right-story pediatric hospital was provided by Nicholas H. Noyes as a tribute to his wife, Mrs. Marguerite Lilly Noyes. The public is invited to tour the first four floors of the new structure from 2 to 5 pjn. each day. The building with its strictly “Children’s world** decor offers complete health care facilities for infants through 14-year-olds. The first patients will be admitted Tuesday, December 5. On view will be patient rooms (some with sleeping in accommodations for parents) and surgery and x-ray facilities. Of special interest to children are a large cage with 36 live birds, the 866Mile Race motif in the main playroom and wall decorations from the “Peanuts’* cartoon strip. Methodist’s new nuclear medicine center and portions of the recently completed six-story addition to the C Building will also be open for public tours. These new facilities were made possible by contributions to the United Hospital Campaigns.

“Stubborn as a mule.” No one seems to know how or when the saying started. The Bible says something about it In Psalm 32 we read, “Be not as the hone or as the mule which have no understanding.” Maybe the saying comae from there. <1 Some people are more stubborn than others. Stubbornness can be described as hard headedness, hard to get along with, set in one’s way and so on. When one is in such a mood or has that attitude, it is often impossible to reason with a person. At such times, the “have no understanding” has special meaning. It takes patience to try to reach an understanding. When understanding is reached, stubbornness vanishes like a smoke ring. It is impossible to reach an understanding when neither one strives with understanding for an understanding. When an issue is big enough, it is important for at least one of the two stubbomheads to have an understanding of the other fellow’s lack of understanding Ferity Speedway Fuaeml Home. tSSO North High School load.
